Re: Is there any wicca books you can recommend me?
I'll always recommend Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft by Raymond Buckland. It's by no means in-depth, but should give you a good base understanding of a lot of the basics.

Re: I need book suggestions
Personal opinion, the Book of Thoth really is dense and I could never wrap my head around it. Others must have more mental discipline than I do when it comes to that kind of thing. Believe me, I completely understand. There are still large chunks I don't completely understand, but it got my studies...

Re: I need book suggestions
For Tarot, I have to recommend The Book of Thoth by Aleister Crowley. It's dense, and sometimes difficult to understand, but I find that I learn something new every time I read it.

Re: Question about Rune Books
Is the author of your Book of Runes by Blum? Many would say not to put any weight into his work, it's flowery and fun but not very accurate. The book I recommend is called Taking up the Runes by Diana Paxon another good one is Runecasters Handbook by Edred Thorsson also Rune Power by Kenneth Meadow...

Question about Rune Books
I just bought a set of runes that came with The Book Of Runes. My question is: do you recommend I use that book, or the Futhark series of books. I'd flipped through some of the Futhark books years ago and they seemed to contain a lot of information, which I liked. The Book of Runes, on the other han...

Re: The Dresden Files
I LOVE the Dresden Files. It's actually what got me interested in the Golden Dawn traditions and the like.
My favorite kind of author is one who is continually improving, and Jim Butcher definitely does.

Re: Possible spirit encounter, or I'm just seeing things?
What happened is actually called cable scrying. It's a former of divination. If you want to know more, Raymond Buckland has a book out about it, or check this website: http://thescryingbowl.blogspot.com/2012 ... rying.html

Re: Ridden by the Hag
A couple of years ago, while I was still living with my brother, I had a dream. (This is on topic, bare with me.) I was standing on a dimly lit street corner, facing the street. When I turned to look at the other corner, I saw my brother standing next to an old woman. She was bowed over, and wrapped...

Re: His Dark Materials?
I love the series, although I personally think The Subtle Knife was the best of the trilogy. I'm not a part of the fandom, if there is one, so I hope I'm not the only one that thinks that.

Freaky Tarot Experiences
I want to read about some odd Tarot experiences. I'll start. About a year ago I'd gathered together with some other Wiccans (being a solitary myself, it doesn't happen often.) I was sitting at a table, chatting about the ritual we were about to perform (it was Ostara), and I was shuffling my cards. ...

Re: Suggestions for learning
I'd say that it depends on the deck you get. Many decks come with their own books, some you have to buy separately (I'm still waiting for an edition of the Thoth Tarot to come with the Book of Thoth.) So buy the deck first. Just see whatever one calls to you. A good primer for almost any deck is The...

Re: your first ghostly experiance
My first ghostly encounter was when I was about twelve or thirteen. My little brother was about two months old, and one night I woke up to hear him crying. After laying in bed for for a moment, I realized my mother and step-father weren't getting up to check on him. So I threw off my covers and shuf...

Re: Which tarot deck do you like?
I just bought a deck called the Cat People Tarot/Tarot of the Cat People (I saw it under both names on two different sites). I can't wait for them to get here. Do we have a thread on how to use tarot cards? I saw the one on how to bond with your cards but not on how to use them properly. I don't al...
