Re: About the threefold law
Technology should have been advancing our standards of occult discovery and theory. Instead it has been applied to limit and marginalize it. That should be one of "our" goals as current occultists. Convince the next generation that it is their responsibility to integrate technology with t...

It's hardly your fault, haha. I'm rarely as clear as I'd like to be.Thank you, and I'm sorry I didn't understand you.

Re: How do you find your spiritual/witch name?
I read the entire thread, so I made the question because I still didn't get it. Fair enough, bud. I often write in the abstract without including obvious conclusions, which can make me think I'm being a lot clearer than I really am. I'm glad HC's post made more sense to you and, honestly, his is a ...

Re: How do you find your spiritual/witch name?
I like you more and more.In order to give my craft name to anyone...well....I'd have to trust them more than my own wife...because she doesn't even know my craft name.
My fiancee does know my magical name, but only because I initiated her.

Re: How do you find your spiritual/witch name?
But I feel that Wicca is less a religion and more a doctrine, like atheism and agnosticism, because Wicca can be applied to any other religion. No, it can't. Wicca is a stylized religion all on its own, not a pot of chilli you stick a spoon into and put on another plate. Individuality comes in the ...

Re: About the threefold law
I'm not personally in favor of causing harm. I have days when that becomes more difficult to follow. I agree though, that balance is a key component to everything. Surgery causes harm, in order to heal. When I give someone an insulin injection, I cause trauma at the injection site. But without the ...

Re: About the threefold law
It's amazing how much the media is an influence on (and often the source of) concepts that people mistake as being "ancient," or "traditional" in witchcraft. I've mentioned it before, but the mid-nineties explosion of interest in Witchcraft thanks to Buffy the Vampire Slayer , C...

A lot of effort went into this, and there's no greater commodity on this planet than time.
You've done the community a service, sir.

Re: Experience with Tarot Cards
Largely this.I have a feeling it's not the cards that don't want to answer questions about your death, it's more than likely your higher self or your subconscious.
Remember that the cards don't tell the story; you do.

Re: Feelings of bitterness and negativity
Argh, words are really weapons sometimes. I just don’t find that anymore. When I was younger, it was certainly an issue because (like most sensitives) I took things to heart. Nowadays, because I know myself very well and have no problem apologising when I’m wrong, if someone says something mean or ...

Re: DISCUSSION: The Role of Faith/Belief in Your Pagan Path
You should absolutely always do that.I did a simple four card draw, but I counseled on each card as I pulled it.
I don't mind admitting that I find it inordinately frustrating when people rote-learn Tarot correspondences, and then apply them regardless.
It's a one-way ticket to meaninglessness.

Re: DISCUSSION: The Role of Faith/Belief in Your Pagan Path
What does faith and/or belief mean to you? The intellectual problem with orthopraxy versus orthodoxy is, essentially, that your beliefs will govern your actions . Sometimes those beliefs are absolutely instinctual, just "the way you are", where other beliefs can be a result of social infl...

Re: What is "Will", and how do we focus it?
Actually, I reckon I spend a third of my life, chaotic. By day, I walk about making rational decisions and at least attempting to make sense and understandable. But then at night, strange things happen. I lie in stillness and chaos and entropy sets in. I survive, but I think only because I quaranti...
