The Root of Illnesses

Hello Everyone,

I am sure you know that healing works through understanding the root of the illness or imbalance and then facilitating the appropriate energy or energies for balancing.

I am wondering what methods and techniques do you use to understand the root of illnesses?

I will begin by offering one below.

This is a list of suggested emotional and spiritual causes for most illnesses. The list is too exhaustive for me to post here. It is a very famous list composed by the very fabulous Louise Hay.

When the cause is determined, this particular method prescribes affirmations and positive thinking.

Most people know that most of the time a little more effort is required, but this is a huge step in the healing process. Thought and Word are two of the most powerful tools we have to facilitate the Energy of Spirit.

More generally, I see everything steming from three modes of material nature. One is of goodness, these are things that would uplift one and cause long-term good. Sometimes tasted like poison but then later being very sweet.

The next is the mode of passion from unlimited desires and longings. This starts the modes of attachment, lust, false-ego, unhealthy diets, etc.

Finaly, there is the mode of ignorance. This starts the delusion of living beings. Anger, laziness, and over-sleep.


It's a simple system that I use to help people in all sorts of ways and to realize my own errors and problems in life.

I've heard you mention this before. Where did you first learn about The Three Modes of Material Nature?

When you determine that a particular issue or imbalance is comming from ignorance or passion what do you do? How do you correct it?

The bhagavad Gita was my first discovery of the three modes but it is discussed in Buddhism in the heart and lotus sutras just to name a couple.

There are different ways to counter each one. I'll have to look into these texts more closely and get back to you.

What the hell is this suppose to mean I am pretty sure the under lying cause of aids is unsafe sex.

Well according to the yoga masters anything concerning yourself can be contolled by the mind. There are cases of people healing themselves of cancer and all kinds of diseases by beleiving. This is deffinitly not outside of the realm of possibilities. I'm wandering if this still aplies to children who are born with aids in third-world countries? Maybes it applies still from there hopeless and defenseless feelings concerning their environment... but even a new born? Maybe a mother would project these feelings to their baby so much that it become reality. Ha, I think I answered my question as well as yours.

Great Question.

AIDS is caused by the HIV virus which is transmitted via body fluids such as blood and semen. Unsafe sex is a situation and an event not a cause.

This table is pointing to the emotional and thought patterns that motivate a person to have unsafe sex, to share a needle, or accidentally attract HIV.

By the way, I do not make claims that this table is completely accurate for everyone. I would suggest that it is used as a place from where to first look in order to deepen the healing journey. That looks something like if a person has acne they can begin to ask themselves questions like "Do I love myself and do I feel fully expressed as an individual?"

Personally, I have no idea what causes AIDS, HIV, Cancer, or Slavery. I do however choose to believe all these things can be both cured, healed, and "bound" from ever occurring again.

Of course, this table only works with emotions and thought patterns. There are deeper spiritual realms and forces that are also responsible for imbalances and illnesses. I am curious if and how people perceive these intricacies.

At the bottom there is an explanation of the message. I highly encourage you to read this Earth Ritual.

From my understanding, knowledge combined with pure meditation in the mode of goodness is the most powerful way to heal. I believe that one may heal others with this powerful energy created, but it is only a temporary solution to their very powerful problems.

It would be far more life-changing to explain the cause of one's troubles to them and then to encourage them to get in touch with their true inner expanded being. We all have the power within us. And we are all co-creators of our worlds. There is no need to leach off of someone else.

Y0m, Your words are exactly what I need to here. So much in me opened up as I remembered. I am a bit overcome with the suffering around me and I find myself sad and I can now acknowledge this has roots in my ignorance.

I am reminded of just how much love there is and also how much work there is to do.

In controlling the mind, one truly controls his/her life, health, and inner conciousness. The mind is born of false-ego. It is a merror which will reflect whatever one chooses to focus on. Hince, my statement in my signature saying "Your thoughts are prayers" has a deeper meaning.
