Many people needlessly complicate meditation.
Simply it is a letting go of past, futue, desires, fears, conditioning etc. It is a relinquishing of the sense bases and being aware of your inner self.
Many experienced meditators, like myself choose to focus on simple breathing.
Let your thoughts pass like clouds around a mountain.
Nothing should be held onto or pushed away in your mind.
Simply observe and wait. Realizing that you are the awareness,
nothing more and nothing less.
This surrender is what is talked about in christian faiths. This is also a buddhist teaching, and even Hindu as well. Surrender to god, or simply just surrender for peace and harmony within. This will help yourself and the world around you.
Nothing should be desired in meditation, because this will hinder your progress. But throughout meditation, effort to stay in the present moment is necisarry for success.
Good luck and keep at it.
p.s. Yes it is true that there is energy centers throughout your body, but I'm finding doing this simple meditation will allow you to balance naturally. Eternal devine love is always showering over you. Simply confront your problems, and help others and you will see this to be true.

I agree that people can sometimes make meditation far to complex. Where visualisations and other techniques are valid, personally I found that at times they act as more of a distraction for me. But then at other times doing a simple visualisation really helps me.
I think it’s about finding a balance.
Love and peace.

I also hit these 'walls' often and sometimes they... suck.. to say it gently.Thank you for posting this! I am getting back into it again and I was hitting a wall but these are a help. You always have the most facinating things and you bring so much to these threads. Thank you!
Anyway, having the right additude and not pushing yourself too hard, but just enough to keep yourself interested is tough.

I've learned that when you "hit a wall" that you simply don't do anything except keep meditating every day and they will go away. The more you fight with the mind and ego, the more stubborn it can get. So let them be the boss while you laugh and watch, then they will disapear because the ego is not real.... you made it real because you decided to beleive in it.
