Plants...

Kind of a simple request, didn't think I saw it mentioned or on the site.

Anyone know of a growth (for lack of a better term) spell for plants? I'm not wanting a seed to turn into a redwood lol. I just want something so that I can direct my energies into plants that I take care of.
A number of times I've helped with certain dire need plants and such when gardening, and they've come out very well. And with some flowers (yes, I am a pansy man) that have come up from their lil pots (mom had set them off in a corner because they hadn't come up at all... I like flowers lol) and I'm working on growing a mini-bonsai tree.

I feel that it would be working with something I'm familiar with and be good practice by aiding the wee little plantlings.

All Plants need is daylight, water, the occasional feed and of course singing to and being talked to on a daily basis. And as much as you might want them to grow - if they don't grow, then honey, they ain't meant to grow.

Man, this is one crazy night! I love nights like this! So connected. . .Hedge rocks...she knows what to do. . .I have two bonsai's and they are needy ones. A simple rule of thumb for bonsai's: Fill up your sink every six days and set the whole tray in and fill the water up to the base of the plant. Let it soak for six minutes. 6 days, 6 minutes. I do each of my bonsai's separately as one is a palm and the other a Japanese Serissa. Then every year or so you should re-pot it in fresh bonsai soil. It gets daylight all day then I use plant bulbs for 6-8 hours at night. Lots of light for these beings! Re-potting a bonsai is tricky work and the first time I suggest you get a pro to do it while you watch and learn. Don't forget to prune it regularly (if it is not a palm) and steer its growth to "fill in" any gaps.

Hedge: what songs should I sing to my bonsais? We chat alot but I fear if they hear my Bob Dylan style singing they will whither instantly. . .

I have never grown Bonsai Trees!!! And I don't know why 'cos they are really sweet. And if you got a whole load of them you could walk through them pretending to be a giant.

I like that idea!

Orion, I forgot to mention one important thing. It does need water every night. Use a spray bottle a spray it down well each night when the lights go out. As said before, they require much care and attention. My Serissa is exactly the same age as I am!!!

Well this is my first bonsai, and it's only a seedling right now (planted it last night). I worry about it, because I know it'll require a lot of delicate care... which is what I like lol. Though it'll be a Jack Pine, or at least that's what it should be. Read the little booklet that came with kit (an easy way to start, hehe) about 3 times now. I guess I'll have time to be careful once it has grown to its three inches ('mini' bonsai ) but I still feel like I should be prepared.

Going to have a special box to set it down in to keep with me going between the college during the week and home on the weekend. My mom keeps good care of the greenhouse plants... but the houseplants get watered once a week, by me lol. I'll have to remove some of the tinfoil and raise the blinds a little in the dorm... we are a bit reclusive and so sunlight doesn't visit inside our little cave that much .

Excellent recommendation Stephanie! I always keep stones in my plants. Some stones with a MOH scale (hardness) of under 4 cannot be put in water as they will be damaged or their colour will fade and the soil of the earth is a great cleanser for the stone; and of course the stone's energy absorbs into the plant. Thus it is WIN/WIN!! Great advice, thanks!! Once my bonsai was looking a little rough and I put some Infinite in it (probably the best healing stone on earth, that no one here seems to know about!!!) and within a day my bonsai was happy and smiling and feeling much better. Infinite is a rare mix of chrysolite and serpentine only found in South Africa. Us stone freaks have been using it for the last 5 years or so as it is relatively "new" in the metaphysical world, which is why it is not listed in hardly any stone books yet. If you can get some, you will not regret it!

I'll have to wait a week to try it though, lol. Left the seedling at home with my mom. Helped her put a new roof on her greenhouse, so she's looking after it for me. She has had a lot more experience with plants than me Probably where I get my love of 'em, lol.
