A sexually related dream that felt so real! Seeking advice..

Postby EyeofSarephine » Wed Aug 25, 2010 4:36 pm

Greetings,

My name is Rachel. I am not a wiccan nor have I ever followed the wiccan belief..I am however, someone that accepts people for who they are and try not to pass judgement as I believe in Karma and have had it come back at me with force. My husband is somewhat of a follower of Wicca..or should I say dabbles in it? Anyways, the reason I have joined this forum is that I am hoping someone out there might be able to help me. Ive gone to previous forums in relation to the subject itself and someone suggested I find a forum such as this.

A little over 3 weeks ago I had a very disturbing dream. One that has been on my mind since. Ive always believed that dreams have hidden meanings or perhaps more...but I could be blinded to the idea. I couldnt remember much of my dream the next morning but in it I was having sex, not willingly..almost as though I was being raped but what makes me afraid is that it felt so incredibly real. To be honest it felt as though I was drugged. I remember my head being hung off the side of the bed, me trying to lift it up and open my eyes but I couldnt no matter how hard I tried. I tried lifting my limbs to get the person off of me (I never did see who it was) but failed. When I woke up I was even bleeding. I asked my husband if he attempted to try to be sexual and he insisted he had no idea what I was talking about. He is sincere about it but I cant stress enough as to how real it felt.

Has anyone ever experienced a dream like this?

Thank you

Where did you were bleeding? Did you visit a doctor afterwards? What did he say?

There are several things that could have happene:

First of all, your dream could be so real, that you actually did bleed. That would be the case of a more than vivid imagination and could happen sometimes.

You could have some illness and did bleed (there are several more or less serious illnesses which could induce bleeding in the intimate region) and the dream was just coping with it or wanted to make you aware of the bleeding.

You actually could have been drugged and raped some time in the past and the dream is trying to get this message to you.

It even could have been, that your husband drugged and raped you, but is there any reason for him to do so?

It could be, that you just had this not so pleasant sexual dream just with no reason and randomly you were bleeding with no reason and both were just coincendal timed at the same time. Could happen, too.

Whatever it might be, I would see a docotr to check you up. When you were raped those marks will be gone away by now, I suppose, but when you have an illness and your dreams wanted to point that out, you can have a look on it.

Sometimes though dreams are just random.

Sometimes experience in sleep paralysis aka "old hag syndrome" can occur to such an extreme. People have sensations of someone on top of them, and pressure on the chest, and cannot move. In some severe cases, there can be sensations of sexual intercourse. It is the stuff of old legends where people thought they had been raped by a demon in the night (incubus or succubus).

I had forgotten about it until I read your post... It has been about fifteen years now, where I had a similar sensation except it was in another area as I heard someone whisper to me "you are my little whore" or something like that. I was in pain all day the next day. I lived alone and the apartment was locked; I also lived in a secured building. It is a scary feeling.

The bleeding is one I cannot address, though, but it was addressed an alternative thought on this has already been suggested.

Sleep paralysis and night terrors in adults happen due to insomnia problems, health problems, and heavy emotional stress. I was having all three problems at the time.
It's like walking down an empty street, listening to your own footsteps. But all you have to do is knock on any door and say, "If you'll let me in, I'll live the way you want me to live. And I'll think the way you want me to think." And all the blinds will go up, and all the doors will open, and you'll never feel lonely. Ever again.

If your brain says is what you feel how you feel. As to the different feeling in the morning, your dream, you are probably exercising certain muscles not often used, even if only a dream...

well I too have dreams that are sexually disturbing.............and I seem to be all roused and to have some real time response to these dreams.........I get carried away into having sex with some women I don't even know, their faces are very shady.

After these dreams I wake up very depressed and I don't know what to do.

I am a Single Male person and I sleep all alone.

I'm a very cyncial and skeptical person. I usually find that there are mundane answers behind the strangeness we experience. That being said, I have also experienced this and it is a bit freaky. I was in my bedroom, taking an afternoon nap when I "woke up" to a sexual assualt by a dark creature. I tried calling out to my husband (then boyfriend) in the next room and couldn't speak. I then truly woke up and couldn't explain it as just a dream.

Now, whether or not it's a real occurence or some sort of psychological/physiological event (that afflicts many) is debatable. I tend to go with the latter, but still, even common wives tales can give us some sense of taking control of a situation that left us feeling shaken and powerless.

As a Teutonic mythologist, it sounds to me like you had an Alpdrucke. (German, meaning 'elf pressure') The Alp is similar to the incubus and other nightmare demons. (Was he wearing a hat?) There's folklore available on how to capture or repel the Alp, but first you should do a search of night mares and find which one it was for you. And remember, the mind is an incredible machine that communicates with us in strange and fascinating ways so don't be too frightened or weirded out.
The Gods we worship write their names on our faces; be sure of that. A person will worship something, have no doubt about that. We may think our tribute is paid in secret in the dark recesses of our hearts, but it will out. That which dominates our imaginations and our thoughts will determine our lives, and our character. Therefore, it behooves us to be careful what we worship, for what we are worshipping we are becoming.

- Ralph Waldo Emerson

As believers in the folk-religion we are studying, we seek after mysteries that expand the scope of our gods and our understanding of them, not reductionist theories that reduce them to manageable and socially productive "functions".

Since there have been posted more than enough scientific answers, allow me to present a more..."magickal" one.I have studied pagan lore alot and have stumbled on the following several times:
1) Some people, commonly referred to as "psychic vampires" can use a type of astral projection to attack you, invade your dreams and even rape you while you sleep.
2)(Pure lore this one):There are supposedly certain "demons" who sexually assault people when they sleep.Males are called incubi and females succubi.

Personally I suggest getting a doctor to help you determine if its a psychological issue. If you however wish to undertake a more magickal approach to the subject, i suggest trying out the dream invaders, spell at everythingunderthemoon.net.
