weird dream?
Hi, Last night before bed i asked the god and the goddess if they could somehow make it very clear to me that i was on the right path (paganism). So i had a really weird dream. It has some blank spaces because i can't remember but here's how it goes. Now keep in mind that it was just a dream so its a bit...I don't know i guess you could say imaginary
In The beginning of the dream my mom dies and I get really upset about it and turn into some terminator thing (where my finger grows and stuff) Then on the way to a place to burry her we stayed at a hotel and the hotel had two swimming pools one had just a pool where you could play and one had a pool where you could swim with sharks and wales. I went straight to the one with the sharks. They told me not to go down past 12 feet but I was swimming so fast that I was down and up again before they finished the sentence. Then I wanted to swim with the whale and I saw that when he opened his mouth there were symbols on the type of rock things that you use for runes but the thing is that it wasn’t runes that were on these rocks. Next my friend was there (even though I never met this person I could tell she was a friend) and she saw these two figures(But the thing is that only i was able to pick it up without getting hurt). One was the rune Jera and one was This symbol l0l. But I knew what they were and so I explained them to her(even though I just started learning the runes and also have no idea what this l0l symbol was. Then we played water basketball and the ball was tossed out of the water into a basket. So I went to get it but someone pulled me out of the basket to go somewhere. So we went to a store (not too sure which store) and I was looking at crystals and candles when someone told me that my dad was dead and the only was to bring him back was to turn evil. So I kinda split my soul in two and I told half to bring me back to the good side with my dad. So I turned evil only to find out that my dad never died but they changed him also (but he spilt his soul also ) and we got in the car and started backing out of the parking spot and that’s when I woke up.
So my question is...does anyone know what this means? Thanks! -Willow!

Re: weird dream?
Sounds like a lot of my dreams
I would guess there is something huge going on in your life. You are losing something you cared about, maybe even due to you careless behaviour. Then there comes a lot of symbolic stuff (you should decipher this on your own). Maybe you should take a look at your life, were you are risking too much and loosing something, maybe.

Oh! Well its good to know that someone else has the same kind of dreams hehe. Hmm...I'm trying to think but i really have no idea what i am losing? hehe. As for the symbols I found out that my sign (pisces) is associated with water. Even though i really dislike swiming and really really dislike animals (scarry!!) But maybe that means something? As for the l0l sign...I haven't found anything hehe. Thank you for helping! -Willow!

Re: weird dream?
Well with dreams it's that they usually point out something you don't want to see or haven't noticed yet. So a fast thinking about what you are loosing (or fear to loose) or where you are acting not careful enough, won't bring you many results. You need to think longer and more openly and accept the results. Mostly that's the hardest part in dream interpretation

Any form you feel comfortable with. But you can also trust that your dreams will give you further information.
Also this lack of carefulness and the fear of loosing is just my interpretation, you may have a different subconcious language.

Re: weird dream?
Most dreams are quite easy, even those weird ones. They are easier the better you know yourself, your problems and your wishes. The language seems to be quite similiar with everyone, except for a few changes. But a symbolbook won't work, cause they are kind of dumb like "seeing an owl means someone will die".
There are a few guidlines for dream interpretation. Like:
What did you feel in this dream. Did it related to a symbol a person in this dream? Why did you feel this? Did you ever felt this way in another dream or in real life?
Where were you, who werew with you, what were you doing. Don't care if everything looked different, if you knew it was your boyfriend and your appartement, than the look is not important, it were.
Places are important, but they will have different meanings to you in the dream. Your school can relate to your wisdom or carrier, your home relates to yourself and the different aspects in your life.
The elements do play a role in most interpretation, they also correspondent with a way of thinking. Like most people water correspondents with the emotional or spiritual aspect of them.
Also your dream can take place in the past, in the present or in the future, corresponding with your problems in that time. maybe it feels like remembering or a known and old feeling, sometimes it's all kind of surprising or mind-shifting.
Then you put all of it together, the feelings and correspondencies and what you know about your life.

Re: weird dream?
All right, I gave your dream a try. Though I agree with Traumwandlerin that it is good to learn how to interpret your own dreams since a lot of symbols are individual and personal. So I'm just writing what I felt seemed about right using pretty basic interpretations.
So in the beginning your mom dies and even later your father. This is just after consciously wondering if paganism is right for you and in my opinion just be an expression of apprehension or fear. Perhaps you feel that your parents wouldn't understand if you choose this path, or you fear that there might be some possible evil in it. The whole terminator thing, depending on emotion and how intense it was of course, could simply be your body moving, shifting in temperature or something which just took an odd manifestation in dreamland. And as you were on the way to go bury her you stopped by this hotel with those pools, almost like you didn't mind putting your mother to rest but wanted to go your own path; even rebelled. You plunged into the pool with sharks and whales, like you plunged into danger or excitement. You took the path less traveled and not only that, you rebelled once more by swimming off even when they were telling you not to.
Also, water is usually a strong common symbol in dreams. Ether for emotion, subconsciousness or femininity (a lot depending on the type of water and how it's kept too). Also check up 'shark' and 'whale'. They may mean something to you personally or may be a universal language in your dream.
Now I think the dream gets a bit more spiritual in the sense that you approach a whale and it opens its mouth to reveal something to you. I'm sure you looked up the meaning behind the rune you knew, but maybe the other symbol will come to mean something as well. Even more awesome if you'd find a symbol like it somehow and come across its meaning. And more interestingly you did not first see the runes but your mysterious friend did, which got you to pick them up (possible guide perhaps?) and see. So you definitely feel welcome to the pagan community, earth, and whatever you're looking into, if not even 'chosen' for it.
Then you play ball with this friend of yours. This could have a variety of meanings of course. But then the ball was thrown into land. It was out of the symbolical water and into 'reality' somehow. And as you went there you were quickly pulled into a store. And it seemed to be a holistic store with the crystals and candles and your apprehension returned as you heard your father was dead. And you had a choice but decided to split up. Perhaps you're still not open about your beliefs to others or your parents. And then as you realized he was alive but was also split up, but by the soul, and you just sat in the car like nothing had
happened. I guess maybe you fear your beliefs impact on your father?
I hope this helped some way. At least I gave it a go
- it's quite fun trying to interpret dreams but in the end I think you know best. Try writing down your dreams in a journal and writing about them. The more you do it, the more you learn about yourself and the easier it usually gets!

Re: weird dream?
Wow! That really makes sense! I think your pretty much spot on for all of it except the fact that i'm totally "out of the broom closet" with my parents and a few close friends. Most of my friends and family are very much into the Christian religion (besides my parents of course) and so i feel like i will never be able to tell them. As for my father, He is fine with me being pagan but he is an atheist so he always makes fun of what i believe.
Yes i am going to be starting a dream journal soon because i keep having some really weird dreams. Also i have a question, how does everyone know what all the symbols' meanings are and are there any good books on learning how to interperate them? Thanks so much! -Willow!!

Re: weird dream?
I'm glad it made sense :)s
It takes a bit of time and practice to learn about symbols I think. And sometimes you just downright have to trust your intuition. There are a lot of pages on dream interpretation which you can google and it will tell you what a certain thing might mean. But then again they can be rather whimsical if you ask me :/. When I interpret I try to keep possible personal tell-tale signs; or as you say psychological, then the physical (as if the room is cold you dream of winter) and the universal symbols. Carl Jung wrote a whole lot about all this and I would recommend you read his work. It's very interesting indeed. Another thing, if you wanna get into dream interpreting, read about sleeping and dreaming in general
- It's pretty fascinating and amazing that scientist still aren't quite sure of _why_ we dream or even sleep!
And then as said. With practice it'll go smoother and smoother and you gotta trust your intuition. And if there is something you're not sure of, ask another person. Usually a second person would see a meaning behind something way easier. My friend and I used to interpret each others dreams like this while having some tea
