We are once again on the cusp of the day of greatest energy. The Celtic God Lugh reigns high in the sky with his flaming red hair flying all about and touching our fields with his fertile warmth. Lugh is a Fire God that makes everything fecund. Ask him to bring his seeds of "becoming" to your rituals celebrating the longest day of the year, for this God is all talented and has skills in nearly every aspect of life. Need a house? call on Lugh, put a fireplace in it?, call on master mason Lugh, shoes for the horse? Lugh the smith. Perhaps you would like inspiration for a piano piece, call on Lugh the musician, or a muse for your poems, Lugh is Bard of Bards as well as Druid extraordinaire. Trouble with a spell?, the magician Lugh is at your service, as well he can heal you of your ails, school you on historic record, and tell you who's knocking on the door before you open it. He can fashion a beautiful piece of jewelry or slay the enemy. He can build up your business, and teach all manner of arts and crafts. "Lugh of the long arm" will spread his fertility to almost whatever you want. Call on him this Summer Solstice to aid you in your Rite or just a simple acknowledgement of His mighty power.
May you all have a very special and Blessed Summer Solstice!!! Love from, Firebird Flys

All Hail Lord Lugh
Re: Solstice and Lugh
Sorry, I thought we celebrate Lugh at Lammas/Lughnasadh 1st August?
My soul is awakened, my spirit is soaring. And carried aloft on the wings of the breeze. For above and around me the wild wind is roaring. Arousing to rapture the earth and the seas.

Re: Solstice and Lugh
this is true Cora but we can also celebrate him at Midsummer as it is the apex of his strength and at Lughnassadh its where he gives of himself for the harvest Lughnassadh is the symbolic passing of the Torch to the even more mature aspect of god the horned one. It is the time when the crops are bountiful and the first harvest is gathered. At Lughnasadh we show thanks for what has been given us and our ancestors would offer up in sacrifice to the gods a part of their harvest as a thanks for the gods sacrificing of themselves that we may survive. At midsummer it is a time to show the crops how high to grow and be thankful for the sun in all its glory on this the longest day of the year. If it werent for the sun our crops would not endure. It is a way to see yet again the importance of both male and female in nature. the earth and the crops as the female and the sun and its rays that help the plants grow as the male.

yes,...thanks Sym, Lugh can be called on whenever you want him, and indeed his Holiday is Lughnasadh, but his aspects do change as you move around the wheel. Our group actually has him in the east, for it is His "Shinning Brow" that skirts across the land every dawn. BB Firebird
