Unforgettable dream

Before I get into the dream, I should first fill you in on what I believe led me to having this dream. Basically, to try to keep it short, I fell in love with a woman, and we both planned to marry each other. She broke up with me about four months ago, and it left me in an emotional turmoil. About a month ago, I had a dream that I rented out an apartment in her basement. It's kind of strange that this was a total different house in my dream than the one she lives in. While renting this apartment, her children would never leave my presence and always wanted to hang out/play with me. Her on the other hand, her hair was a different color (black in my dream) and she would always try to "make out" with me. Every time she did that, it would infuriate me and I'd physically push her away from me. My son (10 years old) was visiting with me, and I decided to take him shopping to get away from her, and the dream led on to where it was just me and my son hanging out before I woke up. I'm thinking the dream about her was my subconscious telling me to let her go and forget she ever existed. But I don't understand why she looked different in the dream....or why I was dreaming about her when I'm trying to forget about her. Any input?

I agree with your own interpertation, I think your subconcious is telling you to pay more attention to your son because he is much more important than this woman. The reason that her hair was black could reffer to her mindset, perhaps she represents something negative in your own mind.
