Difficulty keeping my path

I've recently changed from being raised Christian to becoming a solitary Witch. I have a close friend that is also joining me from time to time but I feel that her heart isn't in the right place and I choose not to practice with her. While I was looking up a few things before taking that leap and changing my views, I am finding it a little hard and lonely to set myself right.

I know it's a common practice to have a patron Goddess and God, I was having a little trouble feeling a connection, even siting for an hour just relaxing and meditating to see if anyone would come to me. My question is if it's also a common practice not to pray to a single Goddess and God instead just My Lady and Lord. I guess I'm looking for a thumbs up that I'm not doing something terribly wrong that will come back and bite me in the rear.

Sure...I think if you are calling to an energy that is the Goddess, you can address that energy with all things female..like she who has bore all my ancestors, woman of profound nurturing and giving, Lady who brings forth life and is reflected in the waters of life as the circumpolar wheel, fruitful, abundant one, life giver, She who would stir the cauldron of life death and rebirth, woman of perfect wisdom. Call her as you will, what feels right?

I followed a rather generic Goddess for a long time before I was drawn to Bast. The other deity that I have a particular affinity for is Freya. Your path should become mire clear in time. It takes a while to sort out which energies are the most compatible for you to work with. Just relax and let things flow.

There are no set rules to anything spiritual. You don't have to have a goddess or god, patron or an altar even. You can honor the general though the Sun, Moon, Earth and water ways near your home. Another thing you can try is offerings to the general god/goddess or even ancestors to help you out. Don't get all stressed about it. It all gets worked out.

I agree with all of the above posts. I simply worship Mother Earth and Father Sky. It doesn't have to be elaborate. Whatever makes you feel connected with Source...do it! Listen within. Your soul knows the Mother and Father, it's your mind that creates the barrier.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I personally do not have a particular God/Goddess. Over time I have learned that there are a lot of people who don't have one but then they eventually feel drawn to one or are spoken to by one. It all just depends on you, your beliefs etc. As long as you respect the elements they will respect you. Blessings Be
