I am noticing new posts don't seem to stay up long, what exactly is the length of time that a new post is considered new? I will make a post before bed and by morning it is gone. Also, does it disappear at a predesignated time or is it a certain length of time from the timestamp of the post.
Anybody??? help

Re: new posts, how long do they last?
.
The last comment posted in a forum is the "newest post" (whether it is a comment on another post, or it is a new standalone post). It could be posted on a thread that originates in 2004, doesn't matter. If you post something then go to bed, and a second later someone comments on your post (or comments on another post in the same forum), the post that person made is now the "newest post."
Visualize forum posts as a deck of cards. There can be only one visible at the "top." Say, several people are standing around the deck. You lay your card on the deck; your card becomes the "newest post" visible. Then, a person next to you lays a card down on the deck, on top of yours. Her card is now the "newest post," etc.
Hope that helps.
