My Goddess Totems

Postby MistressOfTheMoon » Fri Aug 16, 2013 5:26 am

I was recently "contacted" by the divine through the forms of Venus and Hecate. From here on I decided to venerate gods/goddesses who call me by making these totems. As it turned out, Venus was telling me to love myself more and to let go of some inhibitions I made which kept me from being happy. Hecate called me to warn me of my grandmother's death and assist her passage to the afterlife :(

From left to right they represent Hecate, Isis, and Venus. Isis has not called me yet but she's my favorite goddess.

Now I'm not sure if the Venus totem is actually a totem because it isn't in animal form. Any suggestions on how I should call these "totems"?

Anyway, I just wanted to share :) The craft is truly one of the most appealing things to me about THE craft.

Blessings everyone!

Thank you! :-) I only use the one for Hecate these days but still keep the other two for Venus/Aphrodite and Isis.

Make them! They're quite simple :-) All it took was these bottles, colored sand, some wax cords, charms, and a glue gun haha. Stating the obvious here.

This week I'm going to busy myself with chores of some witchy sort again. Thanks for this wonderful idea MoM! I'm going to be able to do another project with my old stock of colored sand!

The wolves in this display really call to me. I've always felt that wolves have connected to the Goddess in some way. Hecate is one of the few non-Norse gods that I worship. You do beautiful craft-work, I look forward to seeing more. :3

Thank you! I have some projects I've been putting off but I'm feeling the procrastination going away slowly.

There was no dog design available for the charms and had to use what made sense the most :-D Enter the wolves lol. Hecate made herself known to me through the howling of a dog for three straight nights. So since wolves howl too, and are basically relatives of dogs, I used them to represent Her :-)

It's nice to meet a fellow Hecate worshipper. Hello!
