First Offering

Postby Moonfire » Sat May 31, 2014 2:29 am

So today I made my first offering. I don't have an altar yet but I really felt the need to give one. I've been feeling a pull towards Thoth, Egyptian God of the Moon, Magic and Writing. I'd been praying, asking for protection and guidance for a particular entity problem I have had. And of course, I would ground myself and erect a barrier to keep it safe for me to open myself to Thoth.

And I received aide.

Sakura Blossom, who has been advising me and led me to this site had been telling me that I needed to get a Medium in the house to eliminate this nasty being. Last week one of my roommates brought home this girl who is now beginning to see and we spoke in depth today. Not did we have a lot in common, she revealed to me that she was a medium and that she could sense the entity. She has contacted someone more experienced than herself but...it has been about two years with this thing. And now I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I actually have help now instead of struggling to find the answers or path on my own.

It just felt so much like it came from him that I had to give him an offering even if I did not have an altar to present it on. So I lit a candle and made some rich Assam tea with a touch of honey. I originally wanted to offer milk but my roommate had left the milk in the fridge long after its date. Definitely spoilt (yuck!). But after I left the offering and finished up my prayer, I felt so amazing. All of my life I had never had faith in anything higher than myself. I was even cynical about it though I would respect other people's choice to have it.

It was a wonderful spiritual experience and it fills me with such joy thinking about it even now. I am tremendously excited to make my altar once I have the money and the tools. And even more excited to be rid of my nasty hitchhiker so I can begin spellwork.

Blessed be.

Oh, I'm so happy it felt so good for you! (: I'm really, really glad you're finally getting help and guidance. x3 It feels amazing to leave offerings and to be on that deep connection with your deity. (:

Moonfire, I feel very happy for you. :D :fairy: I can relate to this feeling of being in a prison for long and finally seeing the end of it.

Please excuse my questions, but you whetted my interest once you began talking of hitchhikers, because I have had experiences with them and I feel I can learn much when others relate to me their experiences ( both good and bad ) with the spirit world..how did you attract this entity into your life if I may be so bold as to ask? If you don't feel comfortable discussing it, ignore my question by all means. May the Gods grant you protection and deliverance from this filthy, invasive being.
Basically I was a dumbass and messed with a Ouija board. I was a big skeptic about stuff at the time so a friend of mine and I did it. It started then. We have roughly determined what this entity is but for the longest time I believed that...it was an Incubus because of the nature it behaved in. I don't feel comfortable going into detail and just stating what I suspected it was should be enough to give you an idea of what I experienced. It was horrible. And recently, because I have been taking action to rid myself of it, it has gone after my friends. But I now have a way out and I'm not letting this bastard run my life anymore.

Er, sorry for the negative vibes. It's just been...a very long time. Two years.

Blessed Be.

I'd like to say that an altar isn't necessary for offerings. There a few different ways you can go about giving things to the gods.
  • An offering stone. It's just a flat stone usually placed at the foot of the altar.
  • Cups and bowls. These are sometimes cups and bowls specifically set aside for offerings, other times they're just your everyday kitchenware.
  • Direct to ground. If you don't want to leave certain things sitting around (food that might attract flies for example), you can take it right outside and either leave it at the base of a plant, or dig a hole for it and bury it.
  • Direct to stomach. If your offering is food or drink, it's acceptable to consume it yourself.
  • Set it someplace out of the way. depending on what you offer, you can place it anywhere. For example, if you painted a portrait for your deity, hang it up someplace where you will see it often. The more you see it, the more you will think of your deity.
Good luck with setting up your altar. :)

I won't lie; as soon as I read "Ouija board" I groaned out loud and headdesked. Many people really don't understand how dangerous they are! I have a friend who is a spirit seer (it runs in his blood) and he absolutely hates it. Now, I don't blame you because when you're skeptical you simply don't know; not your fault at all. I truly hope you are able to get rid of the Incubus; they can be very preditorial and possessive.

Ah, I thought that an altar was something that was not quite mandatory but more appropriate. But this was very informative. Thank you very much!

I don't blame you. Often I am frustrated with myself for doing it. I mean, sure I was a skeptic but seriously, there are way too many claims of negative experiences on those things, even taking in the possible trolls. It seems so glaringly obvious that there might have been some truth to it and yet I never really thought much of it.

And yes. I have learned this the hard way on just how possessive they can be recently especially early this morning. But I'm determined. My cat has helped me more than once with this thing by intentionally moving to curl up over the spots it would start touching. She's been awesome through out all of this and protective. I know more than once if she heard a noise that she didn't recognize (even if it was something that was harmless or not supernatural whatsoever) while curled up in my lap she would sit straight up and actually growl at the source or direction of the noise. But she only does that while in my lap.

Anyways. Thanks for the encouragement! Sorry for rambling! May you be blessed!

Wow, yeah, I can fill in the blanks myself. I always hear a lot of bad stuff about those boards, so it seems to be true that they are pretty dangerous for lack of a better word. No, you aren't being negative; you are actually inspiring me by your proactive and aware attitude. Take care and wishing you the best on your path, Moonfire. May the Gods protect and bless you.
Yeah, don't ever mess with one. Nothing happened on the board itself but there was another form of communication that had taken place that night. And we are almost entirely certain that it was posing as the guardian spirit that sometimes visits her. We have no way to be certain on that though. All I know is I never really had problems until after I messed with one of those boards. That's good enough for me.

Well, I'm glad something positive is coming out of this! I'm flattered that I inspired you. No really I think I turned a touch red when I saw that. xD

Yeah, animals (and small children) tend to be very sensitive to spirits and shifting energies. Your cat is probably just as angry at the Incubus as you are! Good luck; I'll send good thoughts your way and ask Hestia to help the priests (She is Greek Goddess of the Hearth and Home among other things).
