I had an extremely intense experience recently while in very deep meditation.
I encountered a being I have never interacted with before. He seemed quite powerful and old, which makes me think He's a deity or perhaps a very powerful spirit. I've encountered him several times now, and I have gotten no impression of a name of any kind.
He doesn't fit the description of any of the gods I work with (most of the Norse Gods and Goddesses, Artemis, and Sekhmet). I got a distinctly "foreign" vibe from him. I have done some research, but honestly I'm not even sure where to start.
Here is as detailed a description as I can write. He was quite tall and olive-skinned, kind of Mediterranean looking. His features were aquiline and a little sharp, but he often smiled, which softened his face. His hair was long, hanging to his shoulder blades. It was curly, thick, and mostly black, with flaring brown-and-gold highlights when the light hit it just right. His eyes were bright gold, with long, dark eyelashes; very pretty, almost like a woman's. He had a neatly-trimmed beard. He wore loose cotton trousers and a sword at his side. On his neck was a pendant shaped like a disc or a wheel.
When he spoke to me...I can't quite remember his exact words, but he spoke about strategy an planning (so perhaps he is a war god?) But he also talked about love and companionship, and how no one can be alone forever, to persevere even when things were difficult.
Any thoughts or suggestions? It's been filling y mind lately. Can't get him out of my head.

Re: An Experience with an Unknown God
As I read this, I for some reason thought of Thracian dieties. Don't ask why; I have no idea. >///< Sadly I don't know much but maybe there's a Thracian diety about duality? Since war and love seem to be paired together a lot which to me makes me think they can be considered part of a duality of sorts.
I hope it helps. ^^; And good luck!

Your descriptions of gold and a disc pendant make me think of gods associated with the sun. Here's a list of solar deities if you think of exploring that route. Here is as detailed a description as I can write. He was quite tall and olive-skinned, kind of Mediterranean looking. Update
For a number of reasons (including research, meditation, and soul-searching), most of which are personal, I am rather convinced that it was a God of the Ancient Semitic religion. Either a Mesopotamian God, an Pre-Islamic Arabian God, or a Canaanite God. I'm still looking into it. I' not sure if He is a Sun God or not--it's possible However, I suspect He ay be a God of fertility/abundance or some such. A disk/wheel can represent a number of things, after all.
