Offerings for Thoth

Postby Moonfire » Mon Jun 09, 2014 2:47 pm

So I'm curious, what kind of offerings would anyone recommend for Thoth? I have already found that he appreciates a dark tea with honey. And LOVES chocolate cake (He STILL won't let me move it from the altar and it's been more than a week!). But does anyone have other suggestions? I was just curious since I would like to give him variety. :] I already have considered writing a poem for him since he is the god of Writing.

Whilst I have no experience with Thoth, I think the idea of writing a poem might be a good idea. Its seems to be quite fitting for Him.
Thank you for your input! Blessed be.

May the Scribe of the Gods accept your offering!

Found this thread, dunno if you came across it already in your searches: http://ecauldron.com/forum/showthread.p ... -for-Thoth

One poster said this: "...UPG ahoy: I've found He likes me to call on Him with lots of epithets. There's a list of them here, as well as one devotee's experiences here.

I've found He likes good tea and coffee. I especially offer Him Darjeeling and Earl Grey tea. He seems to like mint, raspberry, toffee, apricot, peach, and almond as flavors. He also likes dark chocolate, and combinations of all of the above. (So mochas go over well.) I offer frankincense and citrus incense. [...]

I also honor him with writing, studying, and graphic design.[...]

I also see Him as the Great Diplomat - one of His epithets is "He who calms the angry tongues." Very useful when working in customer service, and even more useful when working to become more aware of my speech and stop the damage I sometimes do with my words. "
This was extremely helpful! Thank you! I also felt happy to see that he likes chocolate. And he STILL won't let me take the chocolate cake off the altar! XD I just offered Green tea with honey and two oreo cookies. He seems to be pleased with both!
