Divination Journal

Postby BabyBear » Tue May 20, 2014 1:32 am

I was just wondering, we have a spot for online books of shadows, online sleep/dream journals, even member blogs but what about a section to keep a divination journal for those of us who do tarot or rune practicing, or even scrying.

A lot of people suggest that you take and log the spreads and works you have done at any reading to better keep up with your studies and to just look back on and see where you can improve, same for scrying, so why not have one on here.

first off, i love your icon. it's adorable.
i would personally, if i had a divination journal, either put it in my bos or my regular journal.
You may call me Valerian Moon, or simply Val.

yeh i thought about that but to me that means i have to scroll though pages of spells for one entry here or there and then another three or more pages of searching to find another
if that makes since

I can see how that might be useful. In some ways I use my reading thread as a journal for my divination. I also have a paper/composition notebook that I use as my journal for readings. I do record all my reading as I feel that will provide additional insight that I might not have had before. I can look at where cards have been in readings before and that helps me understand the depths the cards have. The same card can appear in the same position in a reading two of three times for me, but the context of the reading to me is what gives me more insight.

yeh but for those of use who dont offer readings or who are just starting out that might be an issue
or if they have a journal they fear somone will see it hince why we have online BoS and Dream Journals

and i like to keep a log of not only my readings of others but what say you or someone else reads for me so that i can look back on it also and be like this is what this person said and another person said this but they overlap even thought the readings were about something not connected or something like that

Oh I understand and respect that. There is a reason I use regular spiral bound notebooks and composition books for my notes and my readings. Its not out of the ordinary to have either of these around a house, especially if one is a student. They are great ways to have notes in places that people wouldn't think. Most tarot and witchy designed notebooks give away that they are something connected to that. Comp books and spiral bound notebooks don't. For those who want a physical notebook that doesn't look suspicious I wanted to make that a suggestion.

It makes sense. I am not saying that its not a good idea to have a place for it. I just wanted to have physical examples in this thread so that if a seeker was looking they could see there are some physical options that could work just as well.

You're free to create a separate BoS thread to keep your tarot readings in. I don't think there are going to be enough people who are doing this to warrant creating a separate forum for it. It's also pretty easy to start your own blog on a site like blogger.com, or you can create a Facebook page or group and post things in there. There are a lot of options on the web for writing your content down.
