Mr. Loki, you sure do have a following on here

Soo, Lokidemious, I see your influence spreads far greater than I could imagine, what with all these witches throwing themselves at your feet x)

I'm curious as to why a lot of posts involve Loki: marrying him, being with him and aherm... sleeping with him. I have a very old relationship with him that goes beyond this vessel's existence and am rather joyed to see him mentioned so much, brings back old friendship sentiments.

So tell me, lovestruck witches, why the fervant fandom?

I wouldn't say I'm in love with Loki. I have learned that he's an influence in my life. That's been enlightening. I do love Loki my cat, and he loves tummy rubs.

Do you have any experiences/memories involving Antarctica when it wasn't ice covered? Or anything involving flame folk?

The question of why one is called or chooses to devote him or herself to a particular Deity or a pantheon is, I reckon, something that ancient sage would have categorized under what so called, "mystery". The reasons are absolutely unknowable and incomprehensible.

Furthermore, the reasons can't be comprehended or be understood because there's no place empty of Deities. The reason is very much like the reason that the air can't be seen; it's an integral part of our environment, and this is all the more true of the reasons why a God chose you or you devote yourself to a God. The reason why words alone are simply not enough to bring about any understanding of any Divine experience isn't because Gods and Goddesses too transcendental, but because They are too immanent. The only time we're aware of the air is when the wind blows. Similarly, we're only aware of the reasons when They act to manifest Their presence.

Some might say, "I choose this God because I feel His omniscience." Along with other Chaos Deities, Loki causes mischief but at the same time gives valuable lessons. He's aware of all that takes place, knows every men's thoughts, knows how to overcome all the troubles and obstacles as well as every mischievous things that occur in the universe, knows how to solve any sort of strife exactly as He knows how to create and start discords and no matter how great the number of simultaneous and confusing events happened, is happening and will happen, it's nothing for His knowledge.

Aside from that, I know and some of you know this for sure that some of this may simply be the popularity and beauty of the actor who portrays Loki in the Marvel movie "Thor". That's why I find myself growing more and more concerned that newbies to Paganism or Heathenry may not necessarily always be informed and taught on the difference between the fictional characters creatively conceptualized based on the elements of Mythological cosmology, and the actual ancestral Deities of a certain Pantheon.

Thought anyway, I also believe that much of His devotees follow Him because they know Him through traditions of the past and hopes in the future. They know and believe in Him though their rituals and spells for life, as well as their hopes for mankind.

I haven't chosen deities as much as they've chosen me. They've presented themselves at various times in various ways, and sort of said "BTW, that stuff that's going on? I'm part of that. Let's talk."

I know that there is a Deity reaching out to me, but I am having a hard time discerning who it is. It's driving me crazy lol.

I had the same thing, Pink! Haha. It took me a bit, and He tricked me too... But figures, given who He is. It was like a mystery that I got to solve, though, which was fun! I always loved the Nancy Drew computer games, so being able to do it in real life was intriguing.

On a lighter note, I wouldn't mind binding myself to Tom Hiddleson...

Agreed! And that man is like the nicest man on the planet!

Onto the topic at hand. I haven't interacted with Loki (although Thoth is actually a trickster...which I didn't know until recently. xD ) but I would imagine that he could be a very...charismatic being and could easily bespell people, including his followers.
