I think I've found my deities

Merry Meet!

I just had to share this and get opinions. Please be honest, I value all thoughts on this.

Last Thursday night I asked the Gods and Goddesses to show me which deities I should be working with. I know most are found through meditation, but I have a really hard time meditating and was hoping that they would be willing to show me in a dream. You can imagine my disappointment when I awoke Friday morning to the fact that I couldn't even remember my dreams that night. This is odd for me as I often remember my dreams in detail.

Before I tell you how they finally presented themselves let me give you a bit of my history. I have always, ALWAYS, had a strange obsession with both ancient Rome and ancient Egypt. One might think from this that naturally I would be drawn to the Roman and/or Egyptian pantheon. But I've always been able to remember the Greek pantheon on the easiest. As an avid read of both fiction and non-fiction, I have read the Percy Jackson series and always thought that if I were a demi-god I would be a child of Athena or Poseidon.

Continuing with my story. On Friday I got a random package in the mail from my mother in law. Inside was a small box with a note that simply said "I don't know why but this made me think of you. Hope you enjoy it." I opened the box to discover an owl clock that can be clipped to a belt loop for everyday use. That very afternoon it started to rain. We live in a desert with hardly any rain all year. It rained Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon. It wasn't until I was at work, working with a fellow wiccan who introduced me to this site that it all hit me. One of Athena's symbols is the owl, and being a good 5 hours from the ocean how else could Poseidon let me know he was watching but to have it poor rain on me (I work outside by the way) for almost three full days.

I know the Poseidon idea may be a bit far fetched and that is why I would like opinions. But I can say since figuring out this information my life seems to be easier and signs of what I should be doing have been coming in left and right.

I have always been amazed by how deities and other spirit or animal guides find ways to get you attention. It absolutely can not be coincidence that you ask for help and the next thing you know you receive an owl and then a deluge of rain. As for whether or not this is far-fetched or not, does it rain often where you live? If this is a rare occurrence than I would definitely say that your thought is correct! Poseidon must have really wanted to get your attention!

Generally, when you receive a "gift" or a message, your first guess on who it is from is right. It is true when they say that you should rarely second-guess yourself. The power of one's intuition is amazing and you might start receiving more messages from them now since you have recognized the connection.

I am happy that you have been able to connect with your deities, and I hope that the connection will only grow stronger in the future!
