Strange Things Happening Upon Waking

On the mornings after I do something of witchy nature (spell, ritual, divination, etc), I wake up to being unable to move and seeing a dark figure that is racing towards me from the corner of my room, and as it is moving I am stuck lying down,
unable to move or react. Luckily right when is lunges toward me I can move, and it vanishes. I have been told this is called sleep paralysis, but the dark figure give off bad vibes, and it concerns me that this happens only after I perform some magic.

The other strange phenomena I awake to is vibrations. As in, it feels as if my entire bed, body, and especially face are vibrating. This does not bother me as much, but it still seems unusual. Anybody else experience these things?

I used to get night terrors and sleep paralysis all the time like this, when I lived in this creepy building a few years ago. It had a lot of negative spirits wandering around it, and had multiple murders just in the time I was living there (that's what I get for hearing the stories about the building and thinking, "I WANT TO LIVE THERE!"). Maybe you can try cleansing your space, putting up wards (in my current apartment, which was built in the 1920s, I have a protection satchel above the door just in case and have never experienced any night terrors here), or casting a stronger shield when you do your craft.

If you want, I can post my recipe for the satchel I made- but really any stones, herbs, salts, etc that promote protection, purification, absorption of negativity, health, etc. would do.

Wonderful, I'm not alone! The satchel recipe would be great, seeing as I have already tried my usual stones that deal with this kind of thing. Do you have any experience with the vibration sort of thing? Just curious. Thanks for your help!

Hi! I'm new here but your topic caught my eye and I had to comment. The text copied above is really interesting and you should read more into it. I suffer from this and I have vivid, life like hallucinations. Usually I am very tired. I've read that it is a form of narcolepsy too. So basically my body is shutting down to sleep by command of my brain but my eyes remain open and I see crazy things, from dark hooded men, to gears and strange mechanical objects floating in front of me. I see birds made out of thousands of gems and sometimes I hallucinate floating in space with stars all around me. It's crazy sounding. But through alot of research I realize I'm not alone. Some great thinkers from the past would even put themselves into this state to help with whatever hindered them, intellectually. I know for some it can be very scary. Seeing strange men or small children appearing in the room or seeing spiders everywhere. While I have this while falling asleep, the other definition mentioned above is for those who have this same thing while in the early stage of waking up.

Just to help it...as now my 7 year old daughter is doing the same thing...I do smudge, just in case.

Wow, it seems I will have to look more into hypnagogia as you basically have described what is happening precisely. Luckily my visions have become more positive and less frightening lateley. Just in case I put up some wards around my room, did a cleansing ritual, and put a piece of smoky quartz in my pillowcase for protection. Perhaps this put my mind more at ease. This morning I awoke with a pair of slightly translucent and large eagles flying down towards me, although I quickly came to. But I suppose that is better than the darkness from before.

You're quite welcome Elly!! Trust me, I've been scared out of my mind many a time. Reading about others experiences with this really comforted me and hopefully I can comfort my little girl. It's amazing though...sometimes I enjoy the moment that I'm in, and try to touch those stars or diamond like birds floating around me.

Hypnagogia is worth looking in to. I used to get it a lot, as well as other paranormal occurrences, when I was a younger teenager (my mother theorizes that it was because teenagers are more susceptible and intuitive to negative energies, if any, that reside in a house... but that's her own opinion). My hallucinations were terrifying though! Bluejay, you're lucky you get to see pretty things

Definitely do a space clearing, set up your magical barriers around your bed, and make sure you are grounded/protected during and after spell casting. I also suggest removing any items that may have bad energy attached to them, if you can identify any.

Yes! What a great point about getting rid of items with bad energy connected to them.

I was had a close friend that could of been my kids grandmother ( she was older than me) ...she's not a friend anymore...but it's for the best. She was a negative person. Anyways, she gave my daughter an antique doll she bought at an antique store. My daughter was 3 at the time.
Well, that doll brought some bad stuff into our house! I believe it had a spirit connected to it that was up to no good. My daughter would scream and cry almost every night for several months about this little girl climbing on her bed with a knife , staring at her. And that she looked similar to the doll. After a while of this every night, we had a Wiccan lady & her husband come over and cleanse our house and the doll and take it away. She never saw the little knife wielding girl again. I honestly believe her & think it was an entity diguising itself to appear like the doll to scare my daughter even more and mess with her mind. It worked! To this day she hates baby dolls or old antique dolls.

Anytime I buy an antique ( which is often) I smudge it like crazy before I bring into my home.

I have had some rather strange experiences with antiques as well, although certainly not as dark. Interesting story! Did whatever had latched on only manifest in dreams?

Unfortunately the "scary knife girl" didn't manifest in dreams...Avanee would be wide awake staring at the end of her bed, screaming and crying. Sometimes she would come hauling ass out of her bedroom. I never saw her with my eyes, but I had heard knocks and shuffling, and the feeling of heavy, heavy dread and darkness. That enough was enough to scare the poop out of me!!! According to the Wiccan lady, this entity came with the doll, but we already had a few portals in our home that was letting in several other entities. I eventually started smudging my home myself and with my daughters hand in mine we would banish them from her bedroom together. They seemed to be drawn to her.

Thanks for sharing that story. My, my...what an experience. I'm so sorry about your friend. Hopefully she has or will find peace soon. Have you noticed strange happenings in your life since the incident? Or was the negativity mainly attached to your friend?

I definitely believe these "things" can follow or or attach to us. I went on a all day haunted tour when I was little with my dear Daddy, in New Orleans. After visiting numerous places and having all kind of experiences, I will never forget laying in bed and watching the sun come up in fear. I felt all night that a dark shadow man had followed me back to my brothers home. Once again...that heavy, dark dreadful feeling was surrounding me...that and I actually saw his shadow a few times moving throughout the room.

I also had a friend in highschool commit suicide, after years of being bullied. I was closer to her when we were young, but I distanced myself from her once we got into jr high & highschool for she was negative, rude and messing with drugs. But I was kind to her still. She warned me that one day she would kill herself, several times. But she told others that too, and I tried to tell myself she wanted attention. Then she shot herself in the head after snorting three lines of cocaine.

After her death, I hated the feeling around my bedroom. I knew she was there. It was like she wanted me to be as depressed as she was, and I refused to have that negativity around me, influencing me. I told her to get out and never come around me again. That I was sorry she was bullied, and I felt sorry for her that suicide was her only option in her mind, but she would not bring me down anymore. Those bad feelings stopped.

Oh, I have many many stories that have to do with my experiences with the paranormal, being highly intuitive and sensitive. It's common for me to have to cleanse our home and ourselves because of these energies coming around & getting to comfortable. I even go to friends homes and cleanse for them, if they are having issues. Fortunately, with the bad trouble makers, comes the good. Like my Daddy, who has passed. I know he has never really left my side.
