I'm a 'former' Christian, but I still respect the man Jesus. It's funny, just today I came across the the concept of the two religions uniting into one(Christian Paganism). I'm very curious about this new sect.
Care to tell me more about it, or direct me to a site that can fill in the blanks?

Awkward Religion Issues

Mostly what I do, I do because it feels right and fulfilling. I understand my faith, the way I take it, and I believe that there are as many faiths as there are people. Rawna Moon (who runs that site) is of a similar mind and most of the information there helps Christian integrate witchcraft and a male/female Godhead into their faith or interested Pagans into incorporating Jesus.

This is a great site really. Acharya (uh-char-eee-uh), the webmaster, is a friend of mine. I wrote to her to tell her about Adsense and how it could make her money for her site if she used it. I didn't realize when I wrote her that she is kind of famous. She is a well-known author in the anti-Christian circles. That will explain how Jesus came to be the "god" that we know him as and why he basically never really existed. Not to say you shouldn't worship him. That is certainly a personal choice. But I do wish Christians would educate themselves about what exactly they are worshipping. Jesus as an energy is real and is very old, but as an actual person it is unlikely that he ever existed at all.

She would just lay down and take her well-deserved beating, right? Well, she may have lived had she done that, but who knows? Not that this Christian guy is any worse than all the other mostly "Christian" males that murder and beat their wives each day in the U.S. Our men are being taught to believe that they have the right to control us. The Christian religion gives them that right. Some of them obviously take it way too far.

Oh dear, real sorry to put a spanner in the works but in Britain I think, Christianity, Catholicism and Paganinsm do not ever join together.
Paganism was virtually wiped out by the Church of Christianity which did not understand its true meaning and following. They eventually converted people to believing in Christianity by killing and robbing Pagans and making others believe that paganism was connect to devil worshipping.
Witches were women who had requested the assistance of the devil to allow them to have the same powers as men. They didn't like this so they decided to burn all witches at the stake, drown them and do other atrocities to them.

I actually did catch that program on the History channel though, if it's the same one you're talking about. I've seen several of them about Christianity. People can find proof for whatever they want to find proof for.
Even if Jesus the man did exist (and he might have), imagine what we would think today if a crazy man went around telling everyone that he was the "Son of God." We would think he was insane. Actually, I'm sure there are many people right now in this world who think they are related to God, but we just lock them up in mental hospitals or leave them on the streets to live and die. Basically, no one cares and everyone thinks people like that are insane. It's sad, because I'm sure they are all wishing we would make a religion based on their teachings.

Are there witches who don't believe that the witch trials happened? I thought only Christians were naive enough to argue that point. Maybe that isn't what you are saying though. The people killed in the witch trials weren't actually witches (the vast majority of them). They were regular people, usually single women, and they were murdered for really stupid reasons. My husband and I visited Salem, Mass. and took a lot of pictures, so the pictures and descriptions are there. Some of the stories are really sad and tragic. Well, actually most of them are. You should have seen the dungeons (jail) these people had to stay in. Many of them died from being in jail just from the horrible conditions (no heat or food for many of them.) It's enough to make me cry when I read about it, and I rarely cry about anything besides a sad movie. I have pictures of the recreated dungeons in Salem on the link above.

I was being sarcastic about it. My point was that the idea of Jesus being real is about as believable as the witches in Salem. If you want to believe they existed you will. I am well aware of the fact that in Salem they were ordinary everyday people and that the real battle was over land ownership.

It's well known that King James ordered the translations of the bible "edited" for the public masses. There are ceartain "divine mysteries" that the "commoner" should never know. This is why the Catholic church (and this is partial fact partial speculation.) has sealed away in their library, ceartain dead sea scrolls and other scriptures from the appostles and several other biblical contempararies. Growing up in a catholic highschool (yes, I did a bulk of my growing up in that place.) really scared me as to how much information they wish to supress and how many questions I had that were simply "not aknowlaged". I think it is in part why I am an avid explorer of any feild I find of interest. I like to find my own answers in life and not have some one tell me what I'll decide to think.Ah yes, okay, that makes alot more sense. The bible itself is so old that men have no doubt changed it to suit their will. So following the word of christ and not the bible sounds like much more plausible thing to do anyway, in my humble opinion of course. I believe Jesus himself was like the Buddah, an enlightened individual, but man twisted his teachings whenever it suited them. Anyone who would say he didn't exist period is only showing their ignrance.
Anyway, as I said, I wasn't trying anger anyone, just get my question answered, and you two did just that, and even enlightened me a little on the subject.

Course it is. Religion is about faith. That's what religion is, believing in something you can't prove.
One of the greatest peices of advice I have ever been given or faith is my sig line. My best friend in the world, Terry Atwood said it when I first started exploring non christian based faiths. Read it and take of it as you will.
