This was written for me by my ex-significant other when the girl he left me for dumped him, and he expected me to take him back even though he cheated on me. I kept the poem because I like the ending, but NO, I will not take him back ...
We've Got to Forgive
There are those among us, carrying hurt so deep
That day after day they only live to weep
Whenever they do, they just can't shake
The heavy feelings of that total heartache
By spending time looking at how the hurt began
They bring up the hurt again and again
Always looking back, very seldom ahead
Not listening to what a wise man once said
No matter the hurt
No matter how we cry
You can't put raindrops back in the sky
