Pain during meditation
Pain during meditation
Recently every time I sit for meditation, I feel a weird pain in my right wrist. It is sort of a slight throbbing pain, goes on and off. I am getting some acupressure work done for my right hip, so this could possibly be connected to that. I will talk to my massage therapist next time I see her. But I was wondering if there could be an energy block. I usually have no pain during the day, but the minute I sit for meditation and lay my hands on my lap and close my eyes, the pain starts out of nowhere as if telling me to pay attention to my hands. 10-15 mins after meditation, I usually go back to no pain.

Re: Pain during meditation
Hiya ness!
I remembered a client who also had experienced pain when he's meditating 8 years ago. Everytime, he was doing meditation or other consciousness work like astral projection, he was feeling something tickling in his left knee even though he's not moving it. Since he felt no pain during conscious waking state, he simply ignored it.
But, five years later, while doing a leg exercise at a Yoga class, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his left knee. The next day, it was swollen. He consulted a bone specialist and they found too much liquid there. He explained that the rubbing of the bones on his knee is due to the thinning of the osteocartilage, thereby producing the liquid.
I'm not saying though you have bone or muscle issues but its possible and I think it's best to consult a specialist to know if there's something in your hand that causes the pain like carpal tunnel syndrome, fractures, minor ligament injuries, arthritis, tendinitis and even skin problems. Since the pain is happening during meditation I think you can do some self-healing through mental-imagery and visualization.

Hey ness! Did ya make Burning Man?
Anyway, I have carpal tunnel syndrome and had a lot of pain before the knumbness started. And considering that is a nerve I wonder if it would cause energy block. Seems the flow of energy goes through the nervous system right?

Hiya both of you!
I will try to do the self healing and see how that works. I did experience carpal tunnel syndrome during pregnancy (another wonderful gift of pregnancy
) but it quit after some time. So, it is quite possible I have that. I will see if I can have myself checked.
Firebird, I didn't go to burning man
Hard to leave 2 year old and go. Maybe in the coming years we will be able to. Did you go?
