Many times, an interest and aptitude for the craft is inherent, and like Marvel's X-Men, the interest and aptitude begins to manifest around the time of puberty. That's not to say that there are no late bloomers. We have our share of those, and you're all more than welcome here.

What I do have in mind though, is that we Mothers, Crones, and our male counterparts, need to keep in mind, that we have a lot of young people testing the waters. The minimum age for the forum is 13. That coincides pretty well with puberty. If we expect them to respect us, it would behoove us to respect them. Sometimes our conversations get a bit hazy in that regard. They will only be as adept at their practice, as they are taught to be. Let's remember to be gentle, not condescending.

Yeah, I definitely agree with this. If someone had been mean to me when I started very young, I might not have ever come back. I'm glad we are avoiding giving other beginners this experience.

Totally agree! Everyone have some confused teen years. We definitely need to be more gentle and accepting of them if we want them to do the same!

As someone who started at a fairly young age (around 15-16, now 22) on a different forum, I think this is so important. My experiences have only ever been positive when interacting with the pagan/wiccan community, but I can see young people getting put off by harsh comments or conversations.

Wise words and I'm glad you mentioned us late bloomers. I'm middle age and just beginning my journey and i think there's almost as many older newcomers as young with evermore acceptance in modern society of different religions. It's great to find a place that has so many kind and knowledgeable people to help others on there journey
