At this point my 'magickal name' is nothing more than an online pseudonym (Jibrille, not Fatalism). I think that it's important to embrace who you were as well as who you are and to know that you're not 'discarding' your previous life, but modifying it or finidng a way to embrace it better.

I personally have always kept my Magickal name close to me, I see it as something taht has been given to me by myself, there are very few who know my Magickal name, i regard my Magickal name with the same regard as a True Name.

A magickal name is something you either choose or is given to you that suits you, somehow connects with you. I would not suggest suddenly discarding your name, perhaps modify it. I understand how you say you've changed and that's a great reason to change your name, just make sure it feels right.
Online I always used Tenshi Yoma or Desert Rose, but only because I thought they sounded/looked cool. Wolf Heart is my magickal name. It came to me one day out of no where and it really does describe me. It would take me a bit to explain how, so I'll save that for another day, but it connects with me and I feel as though it fits, which is important in a name.

Re: Magickal name??
I think Magickal Names are fine for folks that like them. What do you think of magickal/Wiccan names??

I think for the folks who like them, picking a Magickal Name may well be a profiund spiritual experience...
That being said, not everyone picks their own "Craft Names". I've run into people who I respect very much who were 'given' or 'gifted' their names either by deity or by their Tradition.
And not everyone thinks that the whole "Craft Name" is valid for themselves or their pathway. The crooked paths of my Witchcraft and of my Paganism have never demanded or even hinted that I need a 'Craft' or 'Magickal name', although I fully support folks who have them. Therefore, my name has not been changed by me or by anyone else to make me more magickal, nor to express any kind of sacred-special-ness.... I am a Witch 24/7 and do most spellwork on the fly, so it seems appropriate that I just remain Sarah at all times. I like being "Sarah". I was named Sarah the moment that my parents realized that my mother was pregnant, I've been Sarah my whole life, and I will remain Sarah until I die. "Sarah" is how I think of myself and I find that a very magickal premise....
I do have some other names though that I've been called. My kids named me "Mom" or "MomWow", my ex named me SallyWacko (and many other less flattering things along the way... which is perhaps part of why he is my ex), my cats and dogs call me "Bringer of the FOOD!", and my grandson has named me 'Gamma"... All those names are good, but they aren't "Craft Names".
As for Rabidbunny or Sarah SwampWitch: these are not Craft names either. They are both internet Nicks. My son suggested that I add the 'SwampWitch' to Sarah as an internet nick when I first went on-line, both to give me some privacy and also to separate me from all the other Sarahs on the web so that conversations don't get too confusing. And I choose Rabidbunny because the name makes me giggle.

By the way, the fact that every newbie thinks that they HAVE to have a fancy craft name in order to be a Pagan or a Witch is one of the things that I find heart wrenching at times to witness. I just want to grab the desperately-searching-for-a-name newbie and give them a big hug, tell them to slow down, and reassure them that the "Name-Police" will not show up on their doorstep and kick them out of Paganism if they don't have a Craft Name.
My name was given to me in the form of a dream and in the form of a Native American name. My father has traced his roots back to Geronimo (im not sure if that's spelled right dang splck). He has gotten very much into his heritage going so far as to give “names” to his grandchildren. In a dream he gave me a gift of a pipe with the name Skydancer Dreamwalker carved into it. He was dressed as a chief and the rest of the family was there. He was handing them gifts as well, but I do not remember anything about their gifts. Theirs wasn’t for me. Turns out, a dreamwalker is a Native American shaman who specializes in dream magic. That was the beginning of my journey into the craft.
I chose the name Shadow Hawk for myself because I always fly in my dreams and I always see hawks when I travel, and when I see them I feel this connection. Shadow is because... I don't know, I think it has something to do with how I regard light and dark and such
And Arianna... it's just...bam.. it was there and sounded so perfect. I have so many names, its just the ones that seem to sparkle with moonlight for me...
