I have lots of room to put in a moon garden. Any information and ideas would be greatly appreciated. :D

Addalaide and anyone else interested in moon gardens, I found some tidbits on it. :D
A moon garden is a portion of or all garden space devoted to the moon. Growing plants that will reflect moonlight during full moons.
Ideas for moon gardens....make a garden bed into a circle or a cresent, outline it in shells or stones. For low maintenance garden, plant herbs, bulbs and perennials that require minimal care. Plant seedlings while the moon is waxing; prune and harvest when the moon is waning. Keep a birdbath in the centre of the garden or anywhere in the area of the garden to catch the image of the full moon. Then scry-let your eyes go soft and ask for visions.

For sunny areas plant Artemisia, lambs ears, white roses, white lavender, silver sage, white iris, white cosmos........

For shady area plant Mugwart, dead nettle (lamium), white anemones, white foxgloves, white primrose or species geraniums, white bleeding hearts.........

Needless to say I am very excited to start my moon garden!! :D

Addalaide.....I am not sure about the flower that blooms at night. Sounds very interesting though. I am going to look into that. When you do get a house be sure to plant a moon garden. I have asked for property from the Universe for almost 5 years. Something that I could raise my children on, to grow and learn and to also take care of the property. Last year We bought 16 acres of bush (we call it our forest) the man selling it was desparate for cash and we were there. The cool thing is too, that now in Ontario when buying a wood lot you have to conserve most of it. We only cleared less than 2 acres. the rest we left to nature. So if you want your own house or property, be clear about what you want and you will get it!! :D

Moon Flower

Postby capri5150 » Fri Jun 30, 2006 7:53 am

I have planted before and I am planning on planting again soon Moon Flowers. I grow them from seeds and you can get them just about any department store that sells seeds. They are so very beautiful and large. I don't know if they come in different colors but mine were white and the started opening up in the evening and they are so big. I was suprised. They do grow very tall but are kinda like a vine. So i had made a ladder type of thing out of some large sticks that i trimmed from a tree. I have found that they like half sun half shade.

Just thought I would let you all know

I read a wonderful book about gardening recently..I actually don't have a green thumb and was vertually clueless before reading this book..It's called Bud Blossom and Leaf..It had a section on all different sorts of Gardens and I think a Moon Garden may have been one of them..I actually have decided to go with the Witches Garden. I'm going to do it in the shape of a Pentacle with rocks forming the Pentacle and do an Elements Theme ..North,South,East,West/Earth,Fire,Air,Water and Spirit in the middle..I'm going to research herbs that have those qualities and plant them..I thought I'd start out by trying my hand with the indoor Gardening and gathering all my tools and supplies for next spring ....It really was a great book for Beginners IMO..It also had lots of Crafts and stuff to do in there as well..I'm going to try the Herbal Alter Pentacles..Ugh I talk so much this is quite a long post now..lol..Well check out that book..I borrowed it from a friend and have it on order myself and I already gave it back or I'd check to see however I really think I remember seeing something in there on it about a Moon Garden..

Bright Blessings,

Lori :)
