witchcraft pre-Gardnerian

Hi there, i was wondering???? the way every book i seem to read is wiccan bassed i want good old witch craft is it possable to get my hands on any?As i really want to travel that path not the religion.Or do you just have to desiffer the wiccan from the craft or should i say the craft from the wiccan.I dont really swallow the wiccan stuff,but i do belive in my ablity as a witch.

I haven't read any of these, but I do like the Llewellyn publishings and this sounds like what you may be looking for-
"Llewellyn's Practical Magick Series"... there are several different topics in this series, it seems. (I just Amazon-d it and came up with those.)

I am the same I go into craft shops and look through the books till I find one,
sometimes there isn't any I like and I have to keep looking.

If I were you I'd look for books with titles such as "Traditional Witchcraft" or "Ritual Magic" "Practical Magic" "Natural Magic" "Pagan Path" etc etc.
There are a lot of books out there and most will be based around Wicca so you'll just have to sort through them, spend a bit of time in the book store and flick through them all.

Hi there thank you at least i have a few titels to explore,i have limited time in any book shop , with 4 kids most days i tend to go to the internet so thanks i will definitely have a good look at those.

I have 3 children, so I understand. I buy most of my books from Amazon, they are pretty cheap there. Type in witchcraft instead of Wicca and you'll get the books you are looking for.

I have 3 kids as well
I got to a bookstore andhave them find 3 books they want
each has to go to their own section, as each finds 3 and comesback to me I tell them why one or the other is ok, or not ok
sometimesthey sit and read it and have to go find a NEW book and putthe other one back
I get about 40 min that way
if its a quiet day in the store I will douse for a single book
but its a GREAT way to get wierdo's taliking to you if you get caught
I M SOOOOOO Sick of having people tell me how dangerous this Isle of Books is
or that my children should be taken from me for exposing them to suck FILTH
Amazon is good in that I can go to the NEgative recomendations and read specifically what people disliked about the books
sometimes you get good info from the positive ones too

West Country Wicca by Rhiannon Ryall are her recount of actual lifestyle

Printed some years after these I know the late Peter Paddon published A Grimoire for Modern Cunning Folk: A Practical Guide to Witchcraft on the Crooked Path

Kelden has just published thru Llewellyn The Crooked Path, An Intro to Traditional Witchcraft.
