Question about birds

Postby dq369 » Fri Sep 15, 2006 5:01 pm

Ever since I decided to transition into Wiccan beliefs officially, I've seen a lot of big black birds.

Most of the time theyre flying overhead, but occasionally they are sitting around somewhere.

I dunno if this was asked or not already, so I'm asking now. Why now?

It could just be that you've taken more notice to them and they've always been there. it could be that due to changing seasons they're present in larger flocks since they're migrating. or it could be a sign of some sort...or it could be a complete coincidence.

I don't know where you're coming from, but what I've seen in a lot of people who have just found Wicca or some other pagan religion, is that "everything" is a sign of *something*...a lot of times though, I think it's the person just becoming more aware of what's going on around them, and I think that that's because of pagan religions being considered to be mostly "nature-based", people open up their eyes just a little wider to the natural world, consciously or subconsciously.

My guess, if this is *extremely* recent, is that it could be a seasonal thing, or that you've become more aware of what's around you. Irt could be symbolic of a particular deity, or something else, but it might not. If it is, you'll figure it out in time.

well that depends on what you think they mean. i too have been seing alot of crows lately. and as far as what they mean that is something that only you know. Everything means something else to a different person. Ask yourself this. How do you feel when you see them and why do you think you feel this way? it could help you figure out what they mean. also i find omens like these alot stronger if the bird actually stares at you for a bit.

I cant answer your question but in the last year I've had more and more black birds sitting on my window sils! The strange thing is, often they'll sit and look at me and dont move even when I get up and go to the window

Hopefully it doesnt mean anything too awful

actually, i read somewhere that if something like that happens, it might be your familiar or something...i don't know much about it, i'm still in the research part of everything, but i remember reading that SOMEWHERE,
it said that witch's souls seek out their familiar and the familiar comes to them or something like that.

There have been many times in my life when I have been very down and out when suddenly a small bird flies up to my window sill. Birds do not normally do that which is why I take notice when it happens. The most bizarre example happened when I was living in a dorm room and some classmates were visiting. We saw something come up to the window and thought at first it was a moth attracted by the light. Then we noticed it was a tiny bird perching on the sill, and it did not move for the longest time even when one of my classmotes walked a bit close to it. He did get too close and it fluttered away, though, but it has happened when I lived at other places too.
It's like walking down an empty street, listening to your own footsteps. But all you have to do is knock on any door and say, "If you'll let me in, I'll live the way you want me to live. And I'll think the way you want me to think." And all the blinds will go up, and all the doors will open, and you'll never feel lonely. Ever again.

I have a feeling that it could be your totem spirit animal,
