Your most memorable magical experience?

Postby Storm » Sat Dec 16, 2006 11:56 am

My most memorable? About two years ago, I was sat outside in my garden in the summer, meditating. After a while I became antsy, I couldn't sit still or concentrate, but I didn't know why.

Then I watched the sky darken and heard the first, faint rumble of thunder in the distance...

I could feel the energy growing in the air, my hair literally started to stand up as the storm grew closer and closer. I stood up and held up my arms towards the sky (luckily I wasn't the highest point  ) and cried out... and then the heavens opened and the Goddess' sweet rain poured down onto me. The thunder boomed and shook the very ground while I danced wildly, round and round in the rain. The lighting seared the sky and the energy around me and inside me was so intense it was almost unbearable.

When it was finally over I dropped to the ground and returned all the excess energy to the Earth. I just lay on the soaked grass for so long afterwards....

Gods that would have been something....

Mine was this past Samhain. I was doing an exercise to try to connect with the God and the Goddess and I was also taking part in my first circle.

Before we closed the circle we took a few minutes to scry the flames of the bonfire. I opened myself up and watched. I was tingling with energy already and my thoughts were mostly on the Goddess Rhiannon and the God Cernunnos. As I concentrated on Rhiannon, Kim (a witch for about 8 years) tossed a bunch of wormwood onto the fire and it flared up high and hot like dragon breath (dragons are one of her animals). A piece of the wormwood fell and flared again and it looked exactly like the head of a proud stag (obviously the Horned God). After we closed the circle, everyone else stayed outside but I felt the need to go inside and be by myself for a few minutes. I sat in front of the fireplace and tried to meditate. After only a couple of minutes, the dog, Rhyssa, came over and flopped her head into my lap. She's a smart dog already (English Springer Spaniel) but when she looked up at me into my eyes I had a clear feeling of communication as if she was telling me 'Thank you' and 'You're not alone'. (Dogs are another of her animals) We sat that way together until the door opened, her eyes went back to normal and she got up to bark at the 'intruders'.

Wow. That's amazing. I think I might start focusing on a particular Goddess for a while because (as far as I know) I've never had a 'sign' like that.

Well, I don't know that it was a sign from Rhiannon specifically, but it was sure a sign that I was on the right track!

im not questioning your perception storm but i think most people dont tend to see signs unless they come at you like a speeding car.

my coolest experience was last week actually. i was at a nature park, which i usually refuse too go to in this weather due to snakes but i went anyway. i sat in a particularly open bit surrounded by tree, i didnt sit against a tree because they are usually full of spiders. and i was just sitting there taking it all in, at a state of non-though, which i can rarely do. the the trees began to rustle very very strongly, stronger than ive ever come across but there was no wind, then a bunch of leaves fell i could only see the ones if front of me falling but ya get that, then came a gust of wind and before the leaves hit the ground they were blown around me, and this open bit and they continues to blow and i could feel something blowing around this place. then the leaves dropped to the ground, as the thingy left and the leaves covered the ground except for the little circle in which i was sitting, i wouldve loved to have taken a picture but infortunately i didnt have my camera on me, a few hours after that i was still buzzed.

Wow, that would've been really neat, Sobek. Air elemental, perhaps? Someone was playing in the currents, anyway!

(Hate snakes, too? You're DEFINATELY in the wrong country!)

Sobek I still can't get over the image of that spider, I would be scared to sit anywhere outside in australia..cool story though

I don't know if I would consider this magical, but it certainly was magnificent. I was laying in the ocean letting the waves overcome me, and I felt as though I were suddenly apart of the ocean. It was actually a little dangerous, it wasn't a nice day out and a storm was coming, plus it was morning (shark feeding time), but I felt so at peace, I seriously could feel the water rushing through my veins, it was a feeling of ecstacy.

In my opinion that is absolutely a magical experience. I spend a lot of time down in Cornwall with my parents, and my mum and I spend hours walking on the beach and swimming in the ocean. While I was there this summer, I swam out as far as I dared and pledged my love to Yemaya, ocean Goddess, and swore that I would do more to protect her. I would write all that I have done here, but I don't want to sound sanctimonious.

This probably doesn't sound much to you guys but I've only been practacing the Craft for a matter of months so it was a massive deal to me and very Magical and I hope for more experiences like this one.
I was sat at my altar around a week ago meditating, once I got into my ritual consciousness I decided to cast circle (the first time I've cast circle while just meditating) I had my eyes closed and called the quarters, I could see the flame from my Spirit candle in the middle of my altar (as you guys probably know you can still see the light of a candle with your eyes closed). I finished calling the quarters and at this point I got an overwhelming feeling of tingling and a kind of buzz in my head, along with swirling bright white and purple light in my minds eye, I let the feeling flow through me for a few minuets and then decided to call on the great Lady and Lord, as I said these words in my head 'I call upon the great Lady and Lord, hale and welcome' as the word 'hale' was spoken the Spirit candle in the middle of my altar flamed up, bright orange, it was that strong infront of my closed eyes I had to open them and as I did and said 'welcome' it shot up in a huge flame of orange and went out. My whole body shivered (not in a bad way) and my head buzzed travelling right through me, then I got this overwheling serge of emotions which brimmed over and I started to cry. I could tell the Lady and Lord was right there with me in the room (I know they are always with us anyway) but this was so strong, like they were saying to me, yes we're here with you now, feel it, take it in and enjoy it. An amazing, undescribable feeling and the Godess and God telling me I am now on the right path :D

One of my first Magical experiences and one that I'll never forget!

Excellent, Enlightenment! It's very nice to get a reward like that once in a while. It really helps you to see that you're doing well and that you really aren't alone.
