Spring Schedule

Postby Baratoz » Tue Jan 09, 2007 12:06 am

I am a happy pagan. I just got my local community college 2007 spring schedule in the mail and it lists some interesting personal development classes .

Some class names are:

Fundamentals of Feng Shui
Astrology: Introduction to the basics
Usui Reiki Level one (that one really surprised me)
Meeting your Spirit Guides
Let’s Meditate
What’s your totem?
Journal Writing and Spirituality
Introduction to past life regression
Transitioning Holistically
Introduction to flower essences
Intuitive Energy Healing
An Astrologer’s Guide to relationships

And a few more.

Looks like we got some pagans on the college board! LOL

I plan on taking multiple classes. Not all of them though. It is nice to know that the local college is starting to offer this stuff. This is the first time I have ever seen it listed. I hope it stays.

They are offering them too. I won't being taking those classes though. I am about as flexible as a steel pipe.

I about fell out of my chair when I opened it up to that section. I do live in Maryland though or as my friend from Virginia calls it, "The Peoples Republic of Maryland".

You are probably thinking of Virginia. It is the state that Falwell and Robertson come from. It used to be very conservative but is slowly becoming more moderate. There are some conservative areas in Maryland, but over all we are fairly progressive state. We just booted the Repug governor and the open Senate seat went to a Democrat and our state legislature has been Democrat for a long time.

I think that the registered Democrats outnumber Repuglicans 2 to 1.

Wow! You are lucky! The only classes like that we have are Survey of World Religion & God and Evil. I have already taken the survey of World Religion class. The God and Evil class is very hard to get into. So, my solution was to become friends with the teacher! He likes to have class outside and allows anyone that wishes to sit and participate with his class. Pretty awesome guy if you ask me! He is a Taoist, so I have learned a lot about it lately.

Yeah, I live in Maryland because it is much more progressive than Virginia. I would never live there.

The teacher sounds cool. It's always smart to be on good terms with the teacher, especially the cool ones. :)

i dont even know if we have a democratic party or a republican. our main parties if im remebering correctly go by "One Nation", "Liberal" and "Labour", there are about a million other parties that never make it into the election.

There is a class at my college called religion, magic, and witchcraft. However, they only way they could get it through is to only allow 14 seats (and I'm at a good sized college, UNI), and to teach it from an anthropologitical (yeah, I know I didn't spell that right) point of view.
