Mythical Beasts and Demons

mythical beasts and demons. a though occured to me and i was curious as to whether anyone here considers mythical beasts as demons?

I've never really thought about it Sobek, but when I think of the two I don't see a link between them, that's just at first thought though, but I suppose it's how you look at it?

well i dont really class mythical beasts as demons but i was thinking and i saw similarities like how they are both generally beings of power and how some have certain powers(not unlike demons) and how that likeness could have lead to a similar label.

I get what you are saying. Look at , say , Dragon Rouge, they believe the Earth is 'Dragon', in Chinese philosophy Dragon is celestial energy, I know many cultures have demons who can appear in beast forms, their energies and attributes are linked to certain beasts and mythical creatures - look at the depiction of Baphomet , surely a mythical or fantastic looking beast, part animal- part human, representing our animal desires? I 'd need to go and look up more, memory not great today, but look also at Gods and Spirits, Herne the horned hunter, etc. Wings and other non - human attributes a plenty, be it Angel or Demon. Pazuzu springs to mind also, Demons and spirits of Sumerian culture tend to have animal or mythic attributes, if I remember correctly.

I dont believe there's a link between the two. But i do agree with you all, there are similarities on both.
