Questions about wicca and dealing with the dead

Postby treespirit » Fri Jan 19, 2007 4:35 pm

I am new to wicca and am interested in finding information on dealing with the dead. I have friends(with no religious prefrence) that like to go seek out haunted houses and things. I have mixed feelings about this. I feel the dead should be teated with respect and are not toys to play with but is there any information that would help me to learn and understand this any better. If nothing else is there anything I can do to keep them safe? Any information would be useful.
Thanks,
Treespirit

i understand the feelings on "Haunting Hunters" its pretty disgusting.

but you say you want to learn about "dealing" with the dead, to me that implies bindings, banishings etc.

so would you mind being specific?

So you seek the knowledge and preparation to be able to protect your friends from harm and to gain more knowledge from the dead? Well, I can suggest learning meditation and reading a bit about banishing rituals, binding, spirit guides, guardian angels, etc. since this seems to be a bit of a dangerous subject due to the lack of knowledge we have of such things. Only do this if you're sure you have the physical and mental preparation to handle a startling situation because you'll most likely have many of them.

Since you're new to magick and occult I suggest that you spend a few months to a year learning everything that you can before moving into a subject like this. Do what you feel is right and always keep an open mind.

Epothes you got that right. I made the mistake of well I am not sure it was entirely a mistake, but anyways I allowed my mind to be open to my empathic senses. And that opened up a whole lot of realms, I am still not quite sure what all happened. But, one of the things that happened was people seemed to develope some kind of energy around them and after two days of living in a vibrant world I got one heck of a "hangover." Thankfully it seems more under control after a freaky spiritual roller coaster ride.
Reason is out to lunch. How may I help you?
