Resizing and uploading your avatar (again)

Postby Ice_Witch » Mon Jun 05, 2006 3:43 pm

I have been trying to put an avatar from my pictures but it doesn't work.

How can I do it?

You need to upload it to the internet / host it somewhere.. Then grab a URL link to it, and paste it into the box asking for a link to your picture :).

Hope this helps some? I'm not that knowledgeable about how it works, but.. I'm sure someone else'll help if my answer isn't suitable.

It's good that you figured it out, but I would suggest trying to size it down a little smaller.
I have that picture too, tee hee I was going to use it as my avatar, but wolves are more my thing. ^_^

I recommend using GIMP to resize and edit your pictures since it has a ton of cool features and can even do things Photoshop can do. The best part is that it's completely free...how does that even work?

Bored programmers who made like bandits in the tech boom, that's how.
Just blame the aphorism "information wants to be free"

Also, Gimp is BETTER than Photoshop. You can do photoshop and illustrator stuff in the SAME PROGRAM. As a graphic designer, I own both gimp AND CS 2 and I prefer Gimp. Now how do I get gimp to work with Adobe Bridge?!?

For a free *3D* program, use Blender. It's got a steep learning curve, but you can buy a book and of course there's lots of resources and people on line who'd be happy to show you the ropes.
Just make *sure* you have some 2D graphic design experiance. They aren't the same skills but you will get totally lost if you don't have an intuitive grasp on how graphic design works.

I don't have an Avatar yet because I'm still working on mine. ::coolglasses::

Be afraid. Be very afraid.
