Need help with candle protection spell

Postby autumn » Tue Feb 06, 2007 1:47 am

Hi. I am not in the inner circle so I have to post here. I am looking for a candle spell for protection of my home and protection from legal stuff having to do with my home. I am not sure about what color candle to use? Oil? Best day to do spell? Stuff like that.

Thanks for your help.

i'd probably just use either a white or a black candle when the moon is strong if i felt the need.

I always use white for protection spells. However, you shouldnt be too concerned with the color, the candle is just a representation.

Aww, I bet this has really thrown you out now lol, what with us all giving you a different answer...

There isn't just one Oil, certain colour candle, Incense to use for protection and money issues etc, so don't worry about the different answers, all of the above are right. Do a Google search and see re correspondence.

I've just done a quick online search and here is what I pulled out for you...

Incense:

Protection:

Carnation - Protection and strength
Dragons Blood - Protection and potency
Frankincense - Protection and Astral strength
Coconut - Protection and purification
Myrrh - Protection and spirituality
Sandalwood - Protection and healing
Bayberry - Unwanted influences and control

Money:

Red Ginger - Success and improvement
Cinnamon - Draw money and success to you
Bergamot - To attract money
Honeysuckle - To maintain your money
Basil - Paths to money

Colour:

White or Purple

Days:

I would say Thursday as it's good for legal matters.

Wow. Thanks for all the help. I already own dragons blood and I already have white candles. This is the moon on the 8th of Feb. Good for this spell? Yes? No?

Well, you work with what you've got but generally waning moons like that one are best for banishing-type spells. It sounds like you want to do the opposite, so if you have the time you might be better off waiting until at least the first quarter.

Look at the wording of your spell: are you banishing negativity or creating positivity (is that even a word??) and decide from there.

In a waning moon phase I usually try to craft spells from the standpoint of what I don't want, and in a waxing moon more what I do want. (ETA: beat me to it, Sercee! :D )

If your legal matters have to do with winning some type of favorable judgement, sweet woodruff is an excellent choice for that, but may be hard to come by on short notice.

Thanks for all your help. I am wanting to protect my home from unwanted visitors. Wouldn't that be banishing?

I am learning more about candle magick. Like considering moon phases and days of the week best to do the spell. I just did the spell with the candle I felt was the right color in the past, which seemed to be white 98% of the time. I am wanting to do more effective magick.

In an emergency, any moon phase will do. A waning moon is best for banishing, so now until Dark of the Moon, is a good time. You can seal the home from unwanted attention/visitors by using bay leaves [dried are fine] and fennel seeds around the entrances/windows, they are easily concealed under flooring etc. This is to give you authority in your own home and strengthen your energies within the walls.

doesnt sound like a banishing, banishing in basic terms is getting rid of something. sounds like what your trying to do is more of a warding.

The info. I gave you above about bay leaves etc. is a ward, a ward works both ways, keeps out the nasties and keeps your energy and wellbeing safe within.[ it's powerful, too.] I assume that all practising witches and spellcasters would have already warded their sacred space, in some way. I guess I may be wrong, but to me, it's common sense to do so. I don't know too much about Wiccan practice, in particular, so I can only advise by my methods. [I don't cast circles, but isn't a circle similar, in that it functions as a containment and protection? Sorry, digressing. But, I'd appreciate info. just out of interest] I have my home warded as I like my peace and quiet, family space and all that. I have had some try to visit in the astral, but I prefer a phone call at 2.00am or whatever, in emergencies! I am a light sleeper and I also don't appreciate it if I 'm 'busy' with something and I get interference, however well meaning.lol.
