Influence of the Moon

Postby Eretik » Thu Apr 19, 2007 9:00 pm

There have been a lot of important astronomical events this year, with more to come, all linked to/with the Moon. The Moon is the seeker of truth in our souls and psyches, I noticed a few folk have experienced major changes and/or crises -myself included. I was curious -have any of you undergone anything like this, noticed effects etc?

Ditto, Sobek. If I'm outside and it's at all dark I've begun to automatically search for Her.

As to events... I've been going through a massive perspective change the last few months. I don't attribute it entirely to the moon, but I definately give Her SOME credit for it! lol

Well, have you ever read the Sea Priestess, and Moon Magic by Dion Fortune? I think that some people are more strongly effected by the moon than others.

HOWEVER: most people are effected by the moon to some degree.

I have a friend who works in the ER at a local hospital. They *always* have more people on staff during full moons, because more people get hurt during that period. If you have a holiday with bad weather during a full moon, that's when they call *everyone* to have them come in. So it's not just the light of a bare full moon in the sky that calls to people.

It is generally accepted that humans are wired to respond to the moon phases. I sometimes feel overladen with energy during the *new* moon, as well as having that feeling during the full moon. Usually I take that as a sign that I have some serious shadow work to do.

I just had a convo with someone who mentions that I'm one of the few females that's more influenced by the sun than the moon. While I love the moon dearly, that comment made something ding in the back of my skull so I'm going to explore that more, see what I learn.

I don't get to see too much of the moon because I live kinda closed in (in the country) I wish that I did get to see more of it. I'd rather see it than the sun. (I'm more of a night person.)

I'm confused, you don't see the moon because you're closed in but you live in the country? When I lived out in the country I couldn't NOT see the moon!

Yes, I've noticed a few things...I know about 3 times as much, in working with stones, than 2 months earlier. Stones are something knew much about already. My energies seem to be up at least 3-4 times more also. Actually have more energy than can use up right now...

Me too Spiralwind,so much so,my insomnia is back with a vengeance.lol. I am up at night and down by day. I don't sleep at full moons,I get hyperactive. I feel very strong at dark moon, my hunter's moon, lol. Here I see that we have many more violent incidents in town if full moon falls at/near the weekend, I 've been observing this for nearly a year, there's deffo.something in it. My son has more seizures at full moon than any other phase [epilepsy] I know 'cos I 'm outside looking up at the sky[ nervously smoking my lungs out, at these times, at hospitals] Sercee, have you checked out the old Feminine Sun Goddesses, like Shapash[Shamash] in Sumeria and in Japan etc? You do seem a sunny type of person[mostly, lol] by nature.

Yes, I've experienced a major crisis in the past three months with a truth long hidden from me coming out. There's been much unpleasant aftermath associated with this but, I think, a change for the better coming along with it as well.

I am very much affected by the moon; more and more I don't usually need to look at it or a calendar to know what moon phase we're in.
