Chris Benoit

Postby [Haley] » Mon Jul 02, 2007 9:44 am

I hope I'm posting this in the right spot....Any-who, I was wondering what every body's views are on the late- and some might still say great- wrestler Chris Benoit.

Personally, I think this case will never be completely solved no matter how much investigating people may do. I don't believe steroids were the cause of any of his 'insanity,' it just doesn't add up. My sister and I think that Chris could've had a mental issue that he either unaware of, or intentionally not treating. If that isn't the case then I also think he had their murders planned for a while- a couple of days minimum. In the latest news, police and news reporters believe that Chris and his wife Nancy where under stress about how to handle their son Daniel's mental illness. And that bit of info is leading to speculation saying that is why he killed his wife, son, and himself. But it even if all of the major answers were found, I still don't believe anything could explain why he would wait days after killing his wife to then suffocate his son and hang himself......

And holy crap!! Nancy Benoit's Bio on Wikipedia being changed, saying she was dead, 14 hours before anybody even checked on the Benoit residence, is just effed up!! The cops caught the guy and he denies being involved in any of the murder-suicide. He's apparently a college freshman who regularly vandalizes Wikipedia and says his comments were just a huge coincidence.

Okay, I'm done. :) So what does everyone else think?

i tend not to waste much brain-power on it, wrestlers seem to be dying let and right. but as far as steroids go, it seems reasonable and logical to me.

I have to agree with Sobek,Haley.Long term steroid abuse not only wrecks the physical body but affects the mental faculties also. Medically prescribed steroids do this, even when not abused. I had 3 types of steroids simultaneously, oral, nasal and inhaler. I had suicidal thoughts and also murderous ones, panic attacks [ I never have panic attacks - it was a nightmare for me] and loss of appetite. Those are the main side effects I experienced. I have septum damage too, similar to the type you see in coke addicts but thankfully not as bad. My treatment was 'short term' i.e. 3 months or so. I will never take steroids again. No matter what. My cat was on steroids for a rare allergy, they killed her. She was on them for a year.[ a very small dose] It was hobson's choice - but it wasn't explained to me,how quickly they would make her decline, I 'd rather she hadn't suffered - hindsight is always 20 -20,so they say. Steroids are seriously dangerous drugs.

I've not heard anything about that, but I am in the UK and all we hear about at the moment is car bombs here and car bombs there.
You say he was a wrestler, did he have a stage name?

Personally, I tend to think that steroids may have been OJ's problem, too.

The thing is, aggression is something that is very much hormonal. If you mess with that, you screw up everything. And, it may be, that with less control over his aggression, he had less control over other issues, too.

The thing is, everyone has a mental foible or two. Then, when you mess up the balance, who knows *what* you have?

Also, wrestlers tend to get knocked in the head a lot. That's not good for the old psyche either.

His stage name is Chris Benoit (but he's also known as "The Canadian Crippler") and it's not likely that steroids were a cause since the WWE makes their wrestlers get drug tests and his last one was clean. How short a time frame would it be to have be before suicidal/homicidal tendencies show if he was taking them? And Eretik, I'm sorry about your cat. I love cats, but my sister is supposedly allergic- even though we had one years ago!

Well, that being so Haley, why are the WWE so keen to dissacociate themselves from Benoit, all references to him, his merchandise and and life as a member have been removed from their official sites? If I wanted to fool a dope test I 'd use someone elses urine, or bribe the Doc, there are lots of other ways around that problem too.Steroids were found in the house, of the type which can be legally prescribed, but they had been purchased in large quantities over the internet. The plot thickens, hmmm, the man was unnaturally huge, when you see someone with a tiny head on a huge torso, that is a mark of steroid abuse, not the only one, though. It's really ugly on a woman, the woman gets a big jaw, deep voice and greatly increased muscle mass also to the point of proportions looking strange, they lose breast tissue and usually need a boob job, just to stay looking a little feminine, the pecs become huge and squared like a man's. Premeditation or no,it was steroid abuse. The paranoia that comes from this can be slow burning, not always a 'burst' of rage, as is being claimed by one[unreliable]source. Remember that Big Arnie always denied steroid and drug abuses, until that is , his 4th major bypass op. [heart weakness is another factor]when he came clean and ratted out the whole pro. bodybuilding/Mr.Universe industry for the drug soaked profiteering falsehood it really is. Sigh, I am an ex-bodybuilder [amateur] I worked in a gym, I know what 'roid monkeys look/are like. See this story below...

i think that use of steroids is a very logical reason towards a mental decline. it's only logical to assume that hormonal imbalance would have an effect on a person's mentality. he might've been clean at the time he took that drug test, but the damage could've easily been already done.

it's tragic, really.

ok Haley i'll let you in on something...they may be professional wrestlers, but majority of them are also professional junkies too. and something many junkies know is ways around all manner of medical tests. ive known junkies...disgusting things they are. and i hold no sympathy for them. but my point is there are millions of ways to get around drug tests and sadly enough some of them can be bought over the counter at pharmacies.

Please read that story, I tagged. It's heartbreaking,as it shows, this tragedy could have been avoided. I hate that the media/corporate entertainment companies etc. are selling false promises and lifestyles to people this way. It's 'glamorous, but the 'glamour' is exactly that, a surface of falsehoods and lies, clever lighting, touch ups and what nots, constructed to part folk from their money and believe 'they too can share the dream'. We have an ,ahem!, 'supermodel' here - Kate Moss, in reality a hopeless coke addled junkie but on a shoot she is 'teased, squeezed and retouched' to perfection. They have her selling make up with the tag'get the London look!' Yeh, be a junkie stay up all night, shooting drugs and emerge looking good thanks to this fantastic product range!!!!!!!! The candid paparazzi shots of her show a rather ugly and different reality, under it all she looks like hell on Earth.
