Meteor Shower

Postby Pixie Tales » Sun Aug 12, 2007 10:58 pm

Is anyone watching? Can you see any good flashes?
Did anyone do anything Special today during it?
Apparently it is between 1am - 2am for the best sights for us on the east coast.. One of the News stations said between 2- 6 am

I just hope I get to see Something...

I wanted to watch the shower this weekend. I tried both evenings. But all I got was rain. :(

It's been raining here or very cloudy pretty much a week straight.

Well. the forecast is for rain and cloud till thursday, but aside from that the peak ended this morning. The shower will continue as late as August 24th, from my understanding, but the meteors will be a lot more rare starting immediately. We'll see, though. Maybe I'll get lucky :)

There's another shower coming up on September 1st, the Aurigids. It's apparently a fairly rare shower (not annual like the Perseids) because it depends on a lot of specific things. It'll be harder to see because the moon will be just past full, but supposedly they're a lot brighter in magnitude so they should be visible anyway. I'm going to try for them!
