What if you can't

For conversations and questions about hauntings and spirit visitations. This is not the place to talk about demons. In fact, this whole board isn't the place for it. A Christian site is a better place for that.

What if you can't

Postby Ashara » Sat Sep 29, 2007 5:08 pm

What it you can't astral project or are not psychic or don't have most of the spiritual gifts that some people on the path have? I don't have the touch for tarot or some of the other things like that. Will my path be just as fulfilling spritually?

not with that attitude it wont.

wouldnt the world be boring if everyone was good at tarot and everyone could astral project and the whole plethora of things.

in MY opinion getting to the store isnt as fulfilling as the walk...just a bonus when you get there.

not everyone can do things that others find come to them easily. why not go with your strengths and desires and if you dont know what they are...go places you've never gone before and find it...thats part of the spiritual fulfilment after all.

Try burning a lavender candle to help you in your psychic readings. While you burn the candle think of a fish, they have a type of sonar to find their food, even in darkness. Focus on the West, the direction of the element water. Add a green alter cover when doing readings, it gives you more sensitivity on the subconscious level. After a couple times, maybe you won't need to burn a candle for readings anymore.

Spirituality is not dependant on 'psychic' talents,a spiritual person is one who is in harmony with themself and often ,though not always,in harmony with humanity, with a sense of mind, body and soul that is strong and well developed. 'Centred' is another word which you can use to describe this. One can be spiritual and religious, or not religious at all but still deeply spiritually evolved. Feel your spirit, go to places that make you feel alive and aware, get to know yourself and develop your interests. As Sobek said,it's the journey that is interesting, you may discover talents and aptitudes you didn't think you had or that you don't think are 'important' in 'magick' - some people have a presence that comforts others, just by being near them, that is magick, jut not the whistle and bell kind that gets the most attention.

if you dont feel like having such gifted abilitites.. why not try to develop it, or atleast 'activate' it... Every man was given such abilities, we should learn to find and develop. there are many sources available for you to study on how to do things... i came to that part before, thinking i dont have gifts like psychic stuffs and spirituality, however, i tried to study and practice as much as i can and gradually, i realized that i'm having unusual experiences that i've never had before...

I guess I just figured you either 'had it' or you didn't. It never occured to me that it was something I could nurture and develop. I will see where it takes me. Thank you for the insights.

Hi Ashara all you need is belief in yourself, once you have that your on the right road, my sig says 'if you think you can or you think you cant your right' its as simple as that believe in yourself, try carving a few runes in wood with a craft knife, it doesnt matter what they look like so long as its your representation of the rune as you see it, after a month or so you will begin to see the rune shapes in most natural things and a pattern will start to form in your mind and it will start to feel right the more you do it the better things will become then have a go at making an amulet for someone you care for, make it in cardboard first and draw the runes on to get the balance right dont think to much about it use intuition for the runes to carve and the order to put them in, it will feel right, get into the habit of doing the work in a circle it helps to focus and puts you in the best mind set because your doing something special and out of the ordinary, then you can try the tarot or something else, but above all believe in yourself, everything will fall into place

Everyone has some type of ability. Maybe you just have not found yours yet.

I will try to nurture what small talents I have and see how they grow and evolve. Thanks for the advice.

Truthfully, the "psychic" side of things is one I've never really looked at. I practice divination, usually using ogham cards or occasionally tarot, and I meditate. I've never tried to have a premonition or a dream about the future, never tried to astally project, never tried to read thoughts or emotions or anything like that. I've come across items of furniture with more psychic talent than me. (Well okay just the one piece and that was one seriously creepy armchair.) Does that make my spiritual life unfulfilling? Not a jot!

Most of the people I've come across who work on premonitions and astral projection and such tell themselves they're doing it to develop spiritually, but really do it because they think having "powers" is "cool". True spirituality, in my view, comes from seeing the workings of the divine in the ordinary, everyday things. Even if you never develop a talent for psychic stuff, you could have other talents that are far more spiritual. You could turn out to be a healer, or an artist, or a carpenter, or any number of wonderful things. Don't limit yourself to what you think you should be - find out who you truly are.

Desktop this is so true there are so many rewarding things that come to one as they walk down the spiritual that make it worth it on their own. In time pshycic gifts may or may not manifest in you, and one of the things most people don't do is stop to ask themselves why they want it to begin with. To me personally, if you pursued it to glorify yourself you are not growing spiritually, and if you are growing spiritually it will pursue you. If you get my meaning.
