Dragon Slumber

Postby Wolf Heart » Wed Oct 31, 2007 9:08 am

As I stated in my other post I usually write in rhyming form as it comes naturally to me and I believe it to have better flow, however this poem does not rhyme and I still love it. There are two meanings to this. The story that is simply laid out in front of you and a much deeper one that so far no one has been able to get. I will not reveal what it is, I'm curious to see what you guys might think.

Any comments, whether good or bad, are much appreciated!

Dragon Slumber

Clouds are thick
And the air is heavy
With the scent of rain.
I sit quietly
Listening to the dragon's slumber.
His belly rumbles
And smoke rises from
His nose.
A bird passes by,
But still,
The dragon slumbers.

The rain pours down
And lightening cracks
Thunder shakes the
Wet earth.
But still,
The dragon slumbers.

The warrior cries out
And raises his sword.
He blesses himself
And strikes.
But still,
The dragon slumbers.

Blood pools on the cave floor
And his color begins
To fade away.
His eyes open briefly
and he gives out
one great roar.
Then his eyes flutter, close.
I cry in grief
And lay along side
the dragon.
I cry for him to return.
But still,
The dragon slumbers.

Blessed Be,
Wolf Heart
