Winter comes

When newly fallen snow

covers all the things you used to know

bare branch berries and shock waves happen.

Little miracles emerge when you see the scene writ large

without the details to distract you... but tread carefully.

what is hidden becomes revealed

and what was revealed is now hidden.

The delicacy is lost and the gesture is prominent;

absorb the lesson without moving.

Your cold breath is your map to warmth

and don't stare into the sun

but absorb as much as possible

and rest in Mother's sleep.
