Creating Blind Words...

Postby Mycroft » Mon Nov 26, 2007 12:24 pm

There is a long corridor and then, there’s you.

And there is nothing at the end of the corridor. But behind you there is the treacherous light. Do you walk ahead or do you turn back?

There is the smell of good food, the sound of cups, the sound of cheering. The heat of many bodies all as one, music and dancing.

Will you walk ahead?

A careful step. The hardest. One at a time. You dared and you are different. So different that the sounds that come from behind you boo and hiss and transform to something hateful. You can hear yourself crying. The heat is not pleasant, but scorching and dry. You want to go back.

You can’t. You would die. There is a hole separating what it was from what it is and if you would even attempt jumping, you would die.

So you go ahead.

The sounds no longer seem to affect you. It’s a hallow corridor and yet a small smile flourishes. A pleasant coolness is in the air. Tiny fireflies guide you. The corridor is no longer as frightful as before. It’s an adventure to make each step but you can and you will. And ahead there is knowledge.

And back there was ignorance. And the great fall would have been your death. A spiritual death. The death of what you have gained.

The fireflies are small facts that you gain. Ideas and witty lines.

There is no knowledge without sacrifice. And the first step is the hardest.

People always hate what’s different. People boo and hiss at what they do not understand. The day creates monsters but night can hide them.

So in the end what did you choose? Content in ignorance or struggle in knowledge?

But you can never go back once you choose.

There is.

But then there isn’t anymore because that’s how life goes.

You gain, you lose…

They say time passes. Time doesn’t pass. Time never passes. We pass through time. Like a traveler sitting in a train watching trees go by, that is how it seems to us that time goes by. But the trees don’t go by, and time doesn’t passes, it is we who wither. Time is always the same, in an eternal rest.

Death is our most devoted friend. It teaches us how to love the people we encounter, and the moments that make life worth it.

Not living life and being terrified at the existence of an opposite, is the fatality of denying yourself the possibility of joy and thus, the true happiness of life. And the mind, advocatus diaboli, is trying to justify that …joy is against life, creating a philosophy called pessimism.

We all love life, because we know no better. This love cannot leave a human being. It is what indirectly leads to the idealization of non-existence.

And the night will pass and the beautiful sun will rise and one of us might be gone.

We are mortal and we need to remember that.

Every step of life is a step towards the inevitable, Corneille had said.

I hope you’re happy now sweetie…we loved you and still can’t believe that you are gone.
