Here's the next part :)

Remember
Nihil woke to a dark morning; thick black clouds covered the skies. A light rain was falling, and a cold wind blowing. Kirra lay curled up next to him. They lay just a short way from the waterfall. The sound of the running water filled the air; apart from the threat of a storm all seemed calm and peaceful. Several hours passed and in the distance the sound of thunder became louder and louder. Kirra woke with a jump, as the thunder became a loud boom.
“I hate that sound. It hurts my ears,” she complained. She got up and headed towards the forest. Nihil stood and followed her; she kept walking until she entered a thicker part of the forest where almost no light penetrated. As Nihil followed, he stopped suddenly, a sudden flash filled his vision then the forest was gone. It had been replaced with burning remains and ashes, the mountains around him were crumbling and falling in on themselves. A screaming filled his ears and fires spread wildly all around him, there was another flash, and everything was normal again. Kirra was looking at him worriedly, “Are you ok?” she asked, “I thought I lost you there for a minute”
“I’m fine. I’m fine” Nihil replied quietly. They carried on until the thunder became nothing more than a rumble, satisfied, Kirra sat down on the thick, soft mossy ground. Nihil sat down a shot way from her.

Kirra was not sure what was wrong with him, he seemed to be lost in his own thoughts and from time to time, he would begin to tremble. Heavy rain began to fall through the thick roof of trees, beyond which Kirra could sometimes see the flash of lightening fill the sky. Storms had always raged over Darkwood while she was growing up, it was the sound she remembered most. As the thunder grew louder, her ears began to hurt; sometimes she hated having such good senses.

The world continued to change, suddenly a flash and Nihil was forced to see his past, the world burning and dying over and over again. He could feel it; the rage in him that had created so much destruction, the rage he had thought was tame. It was there within him, growing stronger as the strange memories grew more intense. At times, he was sure he could even feel the heat and smell the burning forest around him. He looked at his hands, the black light that signaled his rage was glowing strong, but there was something else. He looked down at his chest and thick red light was glowing, it was a similar light to his eyes, and it grew until it filled his vision. As it faded, his sight returned and once again, the world was as it should be. Rain fell through the trees, cold wind blew and Kirra knelt beside him.
“Hey. Come on wake up” he looked down, her hand rested on his chest. He shook his head, “What’s wrong?” she asked him.
“Nothing I’m”
“Don’t say your fine,” she growled, and pushed on his chest pressing him against a tree, “I’m not letting you go until you talk” Nihil sighed and explained to her the strange visions he’d been having, as well as the feeling of his rage beginning to writhe again. Worry filled her eyes.
“I thought that part of you wasn’t a problem anymore,” she said.
“So did I, I guess we were wrong” He spread his wing around her, “Get some rest, at least until the storm passes. I need to think some things over” Kirra nodded and relaxed slightly. As Nihil watched her drift into sleep he wished he could discover the answer to the problem with her, he knew he would need her help eventually. However, for now at least, there was only one being who might know what to do.

Can’t Live With Them, Can’t Live Without Them
Arcanis had spent so long as part of Nihil’s mind, he had even managed to combine the remains of his own power with Nihil’s.
“I’ve spent a lot of time trying to work you out as it were Nihil. I thought I had you summed up before these feelings for Kirra turned up. Then I thought I had got you summed up again, and now this happens. You never stop causing me trouble old man. I do not know exactly why you are reverting to your old ways. What I do know however, is this time. You can stop it. You may not remember, but it was the same thing all those years ago. It started with the want to kill, bloodlust and the disturbing need to set things on fire. Fight against it in your mind before it takes over your body and you may end this thing once and for all”

It gave Nihil hope, the thought of stopping it before it began. His thoughts dwelled on Kirra; she still slept under his wing, hidden from the storm. She had become more important to him now than he had ever thought possible, and he feared what would happen to her, as things only got worse. Radia suddenly appeared through the trees, she approached him and said with a seriousness that Nihil would never had expected.
“I know the problem Nihil. I know what is waking inside you. I also know you can stop it. You can end it. However, until then. Leave; do not put her in danger. Come back when you’re free of your monster” Nihil knew her words made sense, knew what he had to do. He stayed for a time, looking at Kirra. Then finally, he gently stroked her hair and left.

Nihil sat high up on a mountain ledge. Below him, the storm had passed and the land was filled with the light of midday. Soon, he thought, soon it would be time to face his greatest enemy. He would finally be free or the whole world would suffer. There would be no other outcome. He looked down at the forest. He hated to abandon Kirra as he did, but she would not have allowed him to leave on his own. He stood and began wandering the mountains.

Radia tried to reason with Kirra, but she would not listen. When she realized Nihil had left, Kirra changed to her wolf form and tried to track him, running this way and that through the trees. Even Radia struggled to keep up with her. Finally, she found Kirra sitting by a pool in her human form again, too exhausted to continue the hunt.
“He’s going to need my help!” she shouted as Radia approached, “Why did he leave like that?” she added quietly to herself.
“Kirra” said Radia her voice soft and calming, “This is something you cannot help with. Calm down”
“No!” Kirra changed again and sped off through the trees again. They had always helped each other, Kirra thought as she ran, they had always been there for each other, and faced their enemies together. Why then hadn’t he stayed? Was he trying to protect her? Or did he simply think she wasn’t up to the task? She would find him, and when they were together again and safe she would know which. Radia sat shaking her head.
“Can you blame her?” asked Azreal walking up beside her, “Those two have been through a lot and never separated. It won’t be pleasant for either of them” Radia sighed.
“I know” she said, “Neither of them are going to be happy until they’re together again. I just hoped I could help”

Nihil paced back and forth along a mountain ledge. He was getting restless, more and more torn between going back to Kirra and staying away. The memories growing so intense now that it hurt. Then suddenly everything went blank. When Nihil regained his sight, he was in the burning world, atop a crumbling mountain, facing the enemy. He looked into the face of himself consumed by the rage, the black light glowing between the gaps in his armour. With little hesitation, the rage charged at him, and Nihil braced himself ready.

Several days had passed and he was gone. Kirra could not pick up any scent; neither could she hear the sound of his heartbeat as before. She would never find him in such a great place. She remembered this feeling of loneliness, and she remembered she could find strength on her own. She had grown up with no one, it had taught her how to survive without anyone helping. Several times Radia or other werewolves had approached her, but she had reverted too much to her old ways and had reacted violently to their presences.
“It’s something he has to do alone” Azreal was sitting behind her, “Kirra, he is fighting this in his mind. A place you cannot go”
“I don’t like just sitting around and waiting”
“You won’t. Kirra, he is not winning the fight, and now he is attacking everything. It’s just like the old days” Kirra looked at her father in shock. Thunder roared in the distance, at least she thought it was thunder at first. Following Azreal to a wide opening away from the trees, she saw smoke and fire rising from the mountains. There was an explosion and a massive chunk of rock fell from the heights and crashed to the ground bellow. Kirra and Azreal kept moving until they reached a Great Plains land between mountains and forest. Now she understood why Nihil had left. Behind Remus and Dahl walked from the trees, though she growled at them as they approached they kept walking until they stood beside Azreal. Radia soon appeared. Great black flames spread across the mountains. After some time a loud booming roar filled the air, a shout full of rage and anger called out in response. The old dragon erupted from the flames; he clutched Nihil in his teeth but was forced to release him as Nihil tried to take his remaining eye. With a loud thud, Nihil struck the ground at the mountains feet. Kirra ran towards him before any of the gods could stop her. He stood and struck her as she approached. Azreal sprang forward and jumped, she collided with him in mid air and he used his body to brake her fall. Radia charged and attacked Nihil. He gripped her by the throat and threw her into the mountains. Remus stepped forward, stored and let out a deafening roar. The earth beneath Nihil’s feet erupted into the air. Remus pounded the ground and the earth flew back hammering Nihil’s head.

They fought him with everything they had and yet they only slowed him down. Fires spread to the forests, as they fought great waves of black light would spread out from Nihil’s body, throwing everyone away and cracking the very floor he stood on. Soon the old dragon joined the fight, landing and swiping at Nihil with his great claws. However, it was not enough. Nihil continued to attack. Shadows formed by the gods, growing thicker becoming almost solid they rose and soon Arcanis stood again. Radia stood lending power to him, as Arcanis moved in to attack. It was shocking to see Nihil struggle so much against one enemy. Now the other gods took it upon themselves to help him, all together they attacked forcing Nihil back against the rocks. Nihil hesitated before attacking again, and that shocked Arcanis. Nihil in his rage never hesitated before. Maybe Nihil still fought in his mind. Arcanis turned to Kirra; she had been standing aside conflicting in what she should do.
“Kirra! Attack him now!” shouted Arcanis “Keep him busy!” he vanished back within Nihil. Kirra turned to her wolf form and charged at Nihil, biting at his arm she pulled him to the ground.

End It
Arcanis had been right. In his mind, Nihil still held on, fighting a losing battle. However, Arcanis began attacking the rage before Nihil could be destroyed. The rage howled and screamed in frustration as Arcanis held it at bay.
“Nihil, get up. I cannot fight you forever” Nihil struggled to his feet. Nothing he did could stop the rage. It was not something that could be killed with mere force. His thoughts returned to Kirra, again the red light began to shine from his chest. The rage knocked Arcanis aside and charged again at Nihil. As it gripped him, the red light shone brighter. The rage plunged its claw into his chest grabbing at Nihil’s heart. The red light met the rages black, and the two entwined. Now like the rage a light glowed between the gaps in Nihil’s armour, though it was now a mix of the red and black. Nihil felt new strength and power course through him, he raised his hand and a blast of the red and black light threw the rage away. Around him, the burning world began to fade.

So it was then that Nihil’s power reached its peak, Arcanis didn’t think that it would be Kirra who ended it all. It was Nihil’s love for her that allowed this new power to rise. A mix of love and rage now pulsed in Nihil’s heart. He ran at the rage and with truly inhuman strength struck it so hard the metal of its helmet erupted in a splash of blood. With his other hand, Nihil broke through the rages chest and with a roar tore its heart out.

This time Kirra had held back, and it had cost her. She was too worn out to carry on fighting as sat breathing heavily expecting Nihil to kill her. However, her vision became filled with a strong red and black light. It spread away past her, she watched as it reached the flames and smothered them as it passed over the burnt ground new plants and trees began to grow. It was not long until all the damage done by Nihil was all but washed away. He soon knelt down beside her; the odd black and red glow remained emanating from within his armour. He placed a hand on her shoulder.
“Are you ok?” he asked. She nodded, stood up and looked at him. He looked as he did before while he was possessed by rage but now he spoke and acted as he normally did.
“Nihil, what’s happening with you now, I want to know and I don’t want any more surprises,” said Kirra strictly.
“There won’t be any. It is over now”
“Good. Maybe we can finally get some peace at last” she lay her head on his shoulder and ran her finger across the light that shone from him, it was warm and comforting.
“I am afraid it is not that simple” snarled Remus, “I began to think you were safe before Nihil, now I don’t think you can be trusted at all.
“Let it go you simple beast” sighed Dahl before wandering off back to the trees. Remus however attacked, he released a blast of raw power at Nihil. Suddenly the jewel around Kirra’s neck glowed and Remus’ power was lost within it. He stood shocked, raising himself on his back legs threw another blast of his power, manifesting as earth and rock it flew through the air, only to be devoured by the jewels light. The old dragon let out a rumbling laugh.
“Your power will not strike or even go past that jewel god, and I would be careful, sooner or later it may just throw something back at you” he said. Remus snarled and left.

They all relaxed leaning against rocks, Nihil and Kirra almost instantly fell asleep.
“That bond of theirs has gotten weird,” remarked Azreal.
“It seems they’re incapable of being separate for long,” replied Radia as she lay on his back, “They’re too odd for their own good” she laughed.
“She gets that from you, you know,” said Azreal, “You’re the strange one of the two of us” Radia bit his ear and jumped off.
“What is that jewel exactly?” she asked the old dragon walking up to him. He lay rumbling for a time.
“Dragons had always be given trouble by you gods. Until, finally our father killed one of your kind. He stole the dead gods’ power, becoming a god himself. He protected our race from yours until we grew strong, then, tired of the world he left, departed to places no one knew of. All that remained was that tooth, it still holds his power. Power that can defeat gods”
“You seem to know a lot”
“I should do. I’m that old dragons son” he rumbled again and went back to sleep. Azreal stood and began walking away, after a while he called after Radia.
“Come on. Leave them to rest” Radia ran off ahead of Azreal, causing him to chase after her.

Nihil woke up in the middle of the night, the sky was clear and full of bright stars, and the moon was almost full and had an odd red tinge. Kirra slept soundly next to him. They may not have been separated for too long but he still felt so much better now she was with him. Nihil closed his eyes and concentrated on the new power that coursed through his body. It felt great. He looked over at Kirra, making sure to hinder the light of his eyes so as not to wake her.
“There’s just something attractive about a woman who can beat the sense out of you isn’t there” laughed Arcanis. Nihil removed his helmet and relaxed, it felt good at last to be in control. Now just as Kirra could control the change in her body, Nihil could control the power of his rage. Now things would certainly change, now he could rival gods. It would cause trouble of course; the gods of light would see him as more of a threat and the dark gods would not like the potential competition he could pose. Trouble would come soon, but for now, things were quiet and relaxed.

A Change In The Air
The next morning was bright, fresh and cool. Birds danced in the sky and rabbits ran across the plains. Running perhaps because Kirra was chasing them. Nihil enjoyed watching her hunt, chasing the little animals and snatching them up in her jaws. Kirra had been up for some time, though Nihil and only just fully awoken he had noticed her moving around in his half sleep. She seemed restless, often scaling the mountains or running off into the woods. When she noticed he was awake, she walked over to him carrying a dead rabbit in her mouth.

Kirra sat looking up at the pale sky watching the small wisps of white cloud drift by. She was going to enjoy the time of peace; it would not be long now before it was lost. The blood moon was nearing, she saw the first sign during the night; the moon would become a deep red colour over the coming days. She remembered the first time it had come when she was a pup; the entire back became consumed with hunger and bloodlust, attacking anything that was not one of their number. There were other werewolves here in these woods, and she was not a part of any pack. She knew what would happen, the land would be drowned in blood red light, the air would fill with howling and barking as the werewolves rampaged through the forest, and she feared what would happen when she stood against a whole pack, if only that was the only problem. She had heard tales that the moons red light also affected vampires. That, apparently, was how the first hostilities began between the two races; it was likely some would travel here. She wondered what Nihil would do during the days of the blood moon.
“What are you going to do when the blood moon comes?” he asked to her surprise.
“You know it affects me?”
“Arcanis does, he warned me about it”
“It’s similar to hunter’s moon. I’ll be forced into my wolf form again, this time however I won’t just act like an animal, I’ll be consumed with hunger and bloodlust. I guess I’ll just have to try and survive until it passes”
“Survive? Survive against what?”
“Others, werewolves attack as a pack, I’m a loner, I risk getting attacked by everyone”
“We could go up the mountains again. We should be safe among the dragons”
“I wouldn’t stay, I’ll be wild remember? As soon as the dragons fought me away from the mountains, I’d be in the forests getting into fights in moments” They were both silent for a time, Nihil removed a gauntlet and held her hand. The black red light shone through a scare on the back of his hand, pulsing in rhythm with his heartbeat.
“What if it could be stopped,” said Nihil half to himself. Kirra laughed.
“What? You’re going to stand against the moon?” Nihil raised his other hand and black red light flowed slowly from his palm.
“No, but maybe I could just stop you from being changed”
“That would be good,” said Kirra placing her hand in the light, “You think you can do it?”
“Maybe, we’ll find out eventually”

At midday they headed to one of the lakes, Kirra swam through the cool waters while Nihil sat on the bank handling his old cloak nostalgically. It was the first time he knew of that Kirra had removed her clothes, as she resurfaced from the pool he saw just how beautiful her body was. She stood with her back to him washing her hair. To his eyes her skin was completely without imperfections, until he noticed four scars spreading from her right shoulder down to her right hip. He remembered what she had said, about her false mother trying to kill her, it seemed she would never be completely free of her past. He thought then, that he would need to be careful, if those scars remained then there were sure to be others. She may have allowed him to touch her as he did, but should he ever do something sexual, anything that would remind her of her false father…well, it would be bad for them both. He stood and walked over to her, removing his gauntlet he gently ran his hand down her back, she tensed only for a moment before relaxing. She turned to face him and gave a slight smile. Neither of them spoke, but as Nihil carefully ran his fingers down her scars he gave her a look that said, “I will never let something like that happen to you again” While Kirra’s smile said, “I know”

The city of Spire was a dark place, surrounded on all sides by mountains, a place of tall black buildings made from stone and metal. Dark magic created a black shroud that kept the sun’s rays out. Spire was a city of vampires. Excitement filled the icy air. The blood moon was coming and soon they would feed on humanity. They spread out, normally in groups of just one or two, they would hunt as far as they saw fit and feed on whomever they wanted. Erin sat on the balcony of her home. It was one of the smaller towers in Spire; it belonged to her family as all towers belonged to a single family. She was looking forward to the blood moon, it gave her freedom and more importantly fun. She was only a few hundred years old and so this was only her second blood moon. She had travelled more than most of her kind last time, and this time planned to go to the wild lands. It was odd; she did not know why she felt like going there, perhaps there was something interesting, or perhaps someone. She was looking forward to finding out, she had always been the most violent of her family, and she would need that in those forests.

The red tinge of the moon was much clearer now as Kirra looked up at the night sky. Within the forests, others of her kind moved around, they were enjoying the strength and heightened senses the moon even now gifted to them. Kirra on the other hand concentrated on suppressing the urge to hunt. Nihil was also awake; his eyes were fixed on the trees, watching the werewolves as they stalked by.
“How are you feeling?” asked Nihil putting a hand on her shoulder.
“Restless, twitchy and I want to kill something” she laughed slightly. She looked up at the moon again and changed to her wolf form. She soon sped off into the night. Nihil chuckled quietly to himself and raised his hand up. He focused and watched his power begin to flow like mist, it cascaded down to the ground, he focused on controlling it and soon pulled it back from the ground and into his hand, and it swirled around into a sphere and rested in his palm. It was now detached from the bulk of his power, a tiny fragment. A series of barks and yelps came from the forests, looking up Nihil lost his control on the power causing it to fall away before returning to his body. Nihil grunted and tried again.

Kirra leapt onto the other werewolf and bit at the back of her neck, the female yelped and jumped back snarling. Kirra stood at full height and let out a piercing howl, frightened by the display the female ran and Kirra was free to enjoy her prize. She lay down and tore at the dead horse; fights over food were breaking out all over the forest now. The first effects of the blood moon were felt; werewolves were spreading from their pack territories to hunt. If they were not careful there would be little to hunt when the blood moon was ready. Kirra looked around her, werewolves were moving closer, all members of one pack. She hastily stood and headed back to where she had left Nihil.

As she approached, she heard him shouting, she started running, just as she broke out into the open a werewolf flew past her, a tree splintered as it struck it. Another soon flew very close to her breaking a tree in half. Nihil stood against a third werewolf, as it tried to lunge at him he held out his hand and a wave of power spread outward. As it struck the wolf, it was thrown back. Before it even struck the ground, Kirra jumped at it and, biting its leg dragged it to the floor. She noticed the female she had fought earlier charge at Nihil. Before she could reach them, and before Nihil could act the female bit onto his wing and tried to pull him to the ground. Struggling to stay on his feet as well as trying to prevent his wing from breaking, Nihil tried to shake the wolf off. Two werewolves Nihil had thrown aside now attacked Kirra, preventing her from helping him. Yet another wolf ran at his side, Nihil raised a hand and shot a blast of fire at it, the wolf dodged however and bit down on his arm. The two of them managed to force him to the ground, the female jumped on top of him and bit at his throat, the other wolf twisted his arm until it broke. Rage filled him; his eyes became black fires as he harnessed it. With his unbroken arm, he reached for the females’ mouth and, snarling like an animal broke a number of her teeth. She yelped and released him, Nihil quickly stood and punched at the other werewolf. The force spun it around, and Nihil gripped its arm, placing his foot at its back he pulled until its shoulder cracked. The female jumped at him again but was tackled in mid air by Kirra who slashed wildly at her. As they fought the female gained the upper hand and tried to slash at Kirra’s back, however as she raised her claw Nihil spun and hurled the other werewolf at her. They recovered quickly and fled towards the trees. Kirra chased them for a time, before stopping and barking after them.

Blood moon rising
Nihil clutched at his wounded throat, blood dripped from between his fingers, and he coughed and wheezed. Kirra walked up to him in her human form now. She ran her hand across his wing, finding no breakages she took his broken arm and twisted it back into place.
“Will you be alright?” she asked. Nihil coughed for a time then said.
“I’ll be ok” he tilted his head back and exposed his throat, already the bite wounds were beginning to heal. The sun began to rise over the horizon.
“Tonight’s the night,” said Kirra quietly, “I like all the strength and freedom, but I don’t like not being in control” Nihil walked up beside her and spread a wing across her shoulders.

“Have you thought of anything you can do to prevent her forced change?” asked Arcanis as Nihil sat against a rock watching Kirra catching fish.
“A shroud perhaps”
“A Shroud? You mean to block the moons power?”
“Better than trying to fight against it”
“True, but how would you do it without hindering her?”
“The cloak, I could enchant with power that would hold back the moons light” When Nihil had finished speaking Arcanis fell into an amused and impressed silence. Nihil’s plan was simple and potentially very easy, so long as he could tame his own power; Arcanis liked his simple way of things. Kirra smiled broadly and embraced Nihil when told her he could stop the effects of the blood moon. They planned to head back up the mountains later that day; they would be safer up there instead of being caught in the middle of warring packs. At midday Kirra removed the scarlet cloak and handed it to Nihil, he sat with it and soon became lost in thought and focus as his power began to pulse within the cloak. Kirra decided to wander for a time, they were still in the plains, though in a much larger part than they had been before, the land of gold and green spread out for a miles around. She looked to her right back towards the forest, from where she stood, it seemed further away than she realized. Away to her left in the misty distance stood a mountain range, smaller than most with sharper peaks. Ahead of her was the lake she had been fishing from, it seemed to her to be the only water in the plains. Animals from all around came to drink from it, from great horses and bulls to the small mice and rabbits. She had seen crocodiles and other serpents swimming through the waters, she wondered how long it would be before they decided to feed. Kirra sat down and leaned against one of the rocks that jutted out from the ground. After some time a werewolf approached from the forest, it was the female she had fought the night before, she walked now in her human form. She was shorter than Kirra, with long scruffy brown hair and dark eyes. She sneered as she neared Kirra.
“You, outcast, had better leave here,” she said harshly.
“You think you can threaten me little one?” said Kirra standing.
“It won’t just be me, you hurt a lot of my pack last night, and we want payback. I almost broke your males’ wing last time, this time I’ll break something else” Kirra leapt and changing to her wolf form in mid air pinned the other were werewolf down, she raised a claw and slashed the female across the face. Turning back to her human form Kirra gripped tightly at the females’ throat.
“Touch him again bitch, and I’ll break you in half” she sneered. Kirra stood, lifting the female and threw her into the lake. She sat down again and watched the female scramble onto the bank before the snapping jaws of crocodiles caught her; she fled back to the forest. Kirra relaxed and started to fall asleep. She awoke at sunset, the sky was red and soon the moon would glow in the sky. Nihil was kneeling down beside her and handed her the cloak. The same lights the pulsed from within Nihil’s armour now moved through the cloak. She wrapped it back around her, securing it with the pieces of armour she wore; she made sure her body was covered so much so the moons light would not touch her skin. She reached over her head and pulled the cloaks hood over her face.

Howling filled the air, the land was red as the blood moon shone brightly. Kirra was happy the cloak worked, the lust for hunting and fighting still rose in her but now she could choose to ignore it. She and Nihil climbed the mountains until they found a large place flat area they could rest on. Far below them sounds of violence and conflict echoed from the forests.
“I would be down there with them, full of violence and without control if it wasn’t for you,” she said to Nihil as they looked out over the ledge.
“If it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t even be here. I think we’re even” he chuckled quietly. As the night drew on the smell of blood reached the tall mountains. Kirra suddenly stood rigid, sniffed and growled quietly. Something moved in the dark red sky, a shadow darker than the rest.
“A vampire!” she said have whispered. The shadow suddenly came at them, Kirra quickly darted to the side, however, Nihil was not so fast and as the darkness collided with him, he was thrown back against the mountain. A woman stood, naked until the darkness formed around her, she seemed young at first though Kirra could see a sense of great age about her. She looked at Kirra and smiled.
“Ah, my first kill of the night” she said with a hint of excitement. She darted forward, almost faster than Kirra could react, Kirra fighting the urge to use her wolf form, drew her sword and slashed at the vampires’ stomach.

Erin spun backwards avoiding the werewolf’s blade; she did not know how the werewolf had prevented the change, or even why she would deny herself the fun. The werewolf was quick and soon pressed the attack. Erin used her darkness to form a long whip; she had learned to master this favored weapon. She lashed at the werewolf catching her blade, the two struggled for a time, until Erin darted forward again throwing her body into the werewolf, knocking her back and throwing the sword away. Erin raised her shadow whip again but was thrown back when the werewolf punched her in the jaw. Furious, Erin quickly lashed the whip around the werewolf’s neck and tightened its hold. Something suddenly pierced Erin’s side; she lost her grip on the werewolf and turned to see the man she had first struck. He stood beside her twisting a long black blade, he tried to punch her with his free hand, however she blocked the attack and tried to bite at him. However, he threw her before her fangs reached him. She quickly righted herself and lashed her whip, as it struck blood burst forth from the large gash it left in his torso. It barely slowed him down however and he charged, slashing her across the mouth with his blade. She kicked him back and leapt over him, as she landed behind him lashed again with her whip, it travelled down the length of his spine. He let out a shout and spun, this time the blade struck her hip. Erin quickly knocked it aside and kicked him in the chest, he stumbled backward almost falling over the ledge, Erin attacked again but was pulled back by the werewolf. Even though she remained in her human form the werewolf bit into Erin’s cheek. Erin shouted and threw the werewolf over her shoulder, quickly kicked the man again this time causing him to fall over the ledge and lashed her whip ensnaring the werewolf. She darted forward again and bit into the werewolf’s neck.

Kirra struggled against the dark whip as her blood was drained from her body, she grew weaker with every moment as the vampire fed. A rage filled Kirra, old and alike to the anger she felt when anyone touched her. Nihil leapt back over the ledge and hammered his fist against the vampires head forcing her away. The vampires whip loosened and Kirra, shoving Nihil aside, charged. She exercised her fury on the vampire as she struck, after a time the vampire struggled free and fled towards the ledge. She took to the air again and laughed as she began to escape. She gasped however as she collided against Nihil, though his wings struggled from because of the wounded back he was still able to remain in the air. He threw her back down the mountain where Kirra again pounced on and attacked her.

It’s not over yet
Kirra took what meat she wanted from the vampires flesh and threw her remains down the mountain. She sat trying to catch her breath as Nihil walked up behind her. He flapped and stretched his wings from time to time, trying to get used to the pain before he was able to heal. He knelt beside her and looked at the bite in her neck; the bleeding had stopped.
“Are you ok?” he asked, Kirra nodded and said.
“Yes, just tired,” she leaned on him, “Are you hurt?”
“Nothing serious” Nihil folded his wings, “Nothing a little rest can’t fix” After a few minutes they stood and headed away from the ledge, there was a sheltered crevice where they lay listening to the sounds of chaos in the night. The first night of the blood moon was nearing its end, however there would be at least three more nights before it passed. Vampires would be attracted by the blood of their own. Kirra lay awake; a bad feeling dwelled within her. She knew the violence would grow worse when vampires started visiting the forest, old feuds would be renewed and war could break out in moments. She relaxed and putting her head on Nihil’s chest, listening to his heartbeat she started to drift off to sleep. They were safe for now, and she would not worry about the future until it came.

“I find her more and more impressive the more I see her fight, and there’ll certainly be more fighting before too long. It won’t be easy on her having to stick to her human form,” said Arcanis.
“She’s strong, she can manage it” replied Nihil. He was troubled, that vampire smelled familiar, it reminded him of times long ago, when he had fought against vampires. The smell belonged to Seth, an ancient and powerful lord of their race, if they had killed one from his family there would be trouble. The next few days promised to be interesting at the very least.
