I thought I was pretty good at this stuff and no matter what I do my Avatar won't stick so I am using one that just doesn't represent ME!
Maybe it just isn't meant to be?? Anyone have any tips. See my previous post for what I have already tried. Thanks in advance for any help.

First of all you need a photo hosting site.
I use photobucket.
http://photobucket.com/?link=topmenu
Create an account and then upload any photos you want onto it. Photobucket has a resizing tool on there which makes it nice and easy to resize images - they even have a forum size for you to click on, all images for Everything Under the Moon should be no bigger than 200 pixels by 200 pixels, and the file size no more than 20 KB.
Photobucket automatically generates the code for you and it's done in 4 different formats.
The format you want to be using for an avatar is Direct Link.
Click on the code in the Direct Link box and copy and paste this into your profile where it says "Enter the URL of the location containing the Avatar image you wish to link to."
Click "submit". There you have it.
Be warned though - if you then change the size of the photo in photobucket or move it into a different folder in your photobucket account - the direct link will be broken and you'll get what we're all seeing now WitchMomma - a red cross.
You will have to get the new code of the image and repaste it into you profile details as before.
