I have been reading about healing for many months now though the only healing I have done is minor things such as curing headaches. I am really interested in learning many different aspects of healing but I'm not sure where to go to learn these things. I do not trust websites when I do not know the credibility, but if anyone has any websites or books for me to check out to start out learning about healing I would love if you would post them. Thank you so very much.

Greetings fanofwicca,
Well, you could try learning about energy techniques developed in China and Japan like Qigong (Chi Gong) or Reiki. These techniques are some of the most effective healing practices I have ever come across and I am sure if you look around in your city you will find practitioners that can help you and offer the hands training that you seek. Good luck as you develop "the gift"!
Blessings,
bsp

It is only ment to be of warning to all who wish to begin healing,
as much as it is an admirable thing to do please take into consideration what you truly wish to accomplish.
It is reccomended to have evolved enough spiritually to know good from bad, and if possible see visually which energy you are harnessing whether it be positive or negative.
Healing has been of great intrigue to myself aswell, but as I care for those who I heal I dare not unless first having been cleansed and purified, and of course only when it is needed.
Even a certain way you move your hands can generate black energy and only cause more problems, so it is best to be entirely sure as a word of caution.

I was extremely interested in healing, since I wasn't sure about how succesful holding my hands over someone and shouting would be, I dived into herbal healing, using plants to provide relief from ailments.
Things like,
drinking a small amount of lemon juice, then a cup of water to relieve headaches, no pills required.
Dandelion teas, are known to have diuretic properties, they help to flush out the system.
Yarrow is a blood purifier, the tea also acts to sooth sore throats.
There are several tried and true ways to heal and help people, some times not everyone is willing to let you do magic on them to heal, but with the health food crave these days, everyone is game for some herbal teas or root extracts, ha ha.

Thanks for the sugesstions. I was actually just looking at books dealing with Reiki techniques.
And thanks for the herbal tips Gregory. I should have put that I do use alot of herbal remedies on myself and my mother when she is willing to let me. Thank you for the new ones, I will have to try them out.

If you're going to get info on the use of various crystals, stones for healing...learn those techniques well. The hard part is using these healing techniques on yourself. But, there is a way. Water is good...
What I do is use the crystal, stone healing techniques on the water in a clear drinking glass, instead of myself.
The healing goes into the water and then later, when I'm ready...drink the water. You will experience about a 1 1/2 hour delay, before the energies start to work. But you'll sure be able to feel it when it happens.

I had a wise woman once tell me that the way of the shaman can be described in one way,
"The wounded healer"
I've found that in some small matters I can "heal" myself, however there are limits. I can rid myself of heahaches usually, however, I can't replace an arm.
I've spent a lond time pondering the depth of that little bit of wisdom, some times you need to be broken to best understand how to fix.
Remember that, having that empathy and understanding what the person is going through is a huge part of healing, you can't simply run through the movements,
Enjoy your studies.

I've had to do a lot of healing work...not this year, thank goodness. But just after joining the forum here...oh boy. In one year, first my Dad had a fall which was while doing construction work...landing on concrete, nearly killed. He was in the hospital I think 6 days. I could find the thread here for you, was my old spiralwind profile (until the profile froze up). But, my Dad the 7th day went into rehab for his 5 breaks in the hips/pelvis area, fractured rib bone, collar bone.
I did my first healing ceremony as he was going into surgery the first day. He hit his head also on the concrete, really bent up his glasses frame...not the lens though, landed on the side of his head.
You'll have to read that thread when I find it. Talk about miracles. That was the first experience, just as my Dad was up and working again...my Mom got bit by a brown spider...made a hole the size of a quarter, just above the ankle. And she didn't go to a hospital either, not after having my Dad out of rehab. I learned much about healing that year. I did so many ceremonies for healing, then learned how to for myself...feeling kind of run down from it all.

If I put my replies together here, will provide the details of the fall, the stones and time/days of healing results. You can get what others commented by going to Haley's post, link above. I think it will be ok in this thread...we are discussing healing work and techniques for stones.

"I would like to help you Haley, except for I'm busy with a healing for my dad and broken bones. It worked, he was released from his 6 day stay in the hospital, his 4th day in rehab now. At first they told my dad it will be 3-6 months in rehab. That was changed to 3 weeks, YEAH!!!!!!!!
Healing is a process and can be quite complicated. There really is a need for more people to develope as healers.
In your case, more people sending healing energy would be helpful. Alternate a time for meditation and healing rituals. Change things so it doesn't seem like the same ritual is being repeated.
There is no one spell that is a cure-all. If you aren't sure what to start with, pick something someone told you or use amethyst with a green candle. I'm using several stones for my dad. Each time I change things some. But I'm using Native American Indian traditions which are often similar in certain ways (no candles though)."

"Thanks Haley! It is going well, just got back to the forum for a moment now. Nice to get some healing work done today for my dad, also a time last Sunday. Before that it was a whole hectic week without a chance or enough time alone.
Recently was going through something which got me in the healing mode.
Just went through something with my eyes a few weeks earlier.
Needed to get my driver's license renewed. So, had some healing energies still working for myself when my dad had the fall."

"Eretik, just saw that you mentioned Rose Quartz in addition to Amethyst. I used Amethyst the first time and after that used a large chunk of faceting grade Rose Quartz with the Amethyst. This really has been working good with green as a color for the Bear Effigy (ink symbol). Still using my stone medicine wheel circle. Even add a third stone for certain conditions if needed. Rose Quartz seems to add something of a gentle or soft feeling to the energies. It is hard to explainn, but seems to balance other stones."

"I have some very good positive news about my dad today. This is his 10th day in rehab. Walked for the first time using the walker, a support frame with hand grips they can lift to move foward when taking steps. It may still take a total of 3 weeks in rehab before being released. That would be ok, since normally with an injury of that nature, 3-6 months would be required because of blood thinner for preventing blood clots.
I would encourage everyone to use healing energies whenever needed, you might be amazed how well it works. Haley switching colors might be needed at times also. The 4th day I switched to orange with an extra stone for bone strength, this was the only time. And last Tuesday used Rose Quartz, Amethyst, Red Jasper, all together with green for blood conditions. The only time using Red Jasper."
That will give you some idea of what I went through...of course did some shopping on ebay for more stones...I don't think you could have too many of them.

Re: Help would be appreciated
I do have a couple of websites I really like. I have been dealing with both of them for many years now and have never had a problem with either. Actually they have both been very helpful and is the reason I stay with them. For issues concerning the spiritual side, like spellwork I like http://www.curiouscurandera.com and for issues concerning a more traditional way of healing natrually I recommend http://www.likecure.com I hop you feel better and find the help you are looking for.
Best Wishes,
