Any tips on lucid dreaming?

Postby Jessieebee x3 » Sun Mar 22, 2009 12:53 pm

I have an interest in dreams, and I was wondering if anyone has any tips on achieving lucidity? I've randomly lucid dreamed a few times before and it's a lot of fun, especially jumping around. Lol.

I've heard of lucid nightmares before, that they can be very scary. Any tips on avoiding those, too? Thanks :)

well lucid dreaming leads to dream walking when connected...creepy...

you just have to realize you're in a dream...for me I do wacky things out of dreams and just treat it the same.

and to avoid lucid nightmares...learn to concentrate and focus on NOT having things you don't want to experience happening. lol

When you are in a dream...you realize it...and you change it...you form it to your liking(or if you get distracted or are live wire changes for the worse).

Yes, you're just basically consciously aware of your dream, as I've heard it defined before.

And I've heard if you want to have a Lucid Dream, you just simply need to realize in your dream, that it can't possibly be real, and that you are in fact, dreaming.

A way I'm attempting to work on this is asking myself during the day if I'm dreaming, and proving to myself that I'm not dreaming. I heard this somewhere I believe, I'm not sure though. I think it makes you ask yourself subconsciously in the dream if you are dreaming, and you realize that you are.

Hope that helped :)!

how do you prove to yourself that you aren't dreaming? i've heard of pinching your self but couldn't you just be pinching yourself in your dream?

Well, I'm just saying my opinion, since I've yet to actually have a lucid dream, but you could attempt to look out for something you know you would never do, that happens in the dream. In this way you might "prove" that you're dreaming, because in reality you would never do that.

Also, I've heard that to help with Lucid Dreaming, you should repeat to yourself right before bed what you want to occur in the dream. Perhaps even write it down, if you feel you should. For example, if you want to fly, you can try telling yourself "Tonight, I fly!".

I hope that cleared it up a little better for you :)!

Does anyone out there think it's possible for an experienced lucid dreamer to "awaken" someone else (a novice lucid dreamer) to let then know they're dreaming.

its rather easy to...but is dangerous if you aren't friends(or over the internet) with the person...they can trace you back and hurt you with that connection in your mind. even the smallest thing leaves a connection somewhere

If you think in a dream, am i dream, or this is a dream, it becomes a lucid dream. To make this happen you need to program your mind. Look down at your hands and say one of those two things. Do this a lot till it becomes natural.
