A witch's ritual knife is called an athame (a-thay-me).

You don't have to have one but it does make life easier when directing energy.

Those blades are not used to cut anything. I mean not even string. They are used purely for magick work.

Now she may have a utility knife, like a small pairing knife she uses to cut strings for crafts or what ever. If she was going to cut anyone she'd use that. However I doubt she would. lol.

I spell magic, with a k because it has a different meaning.

magic, spelt like that means stage magic. Bunnies popping out of hats and scarfs.

Magick, refers to pagan mysticism. Essentially it refers to spells, rituals and other such things related to Wiccans, etc.

Now this is not a world wide accepted thing. Its just something I've picked up to help keep the two ideas separate in my mind.

Make sense?

I think most people of the craft spell it with a 'k'.

It's also the way it was spelt in old English, but Shaman is quite right, it's used nowadays to tell the difference between real magick and stage illusion magic.
