Glad to have been recently visiting my mom who just turned 87. Very grateful she is still so spry in body and mind.

Today I'm grateful for cellphones and the ability we have to converse over such enormous distances in an instant.

Today I am grateful for having been able to spend some time with some old animal friends of mine...I recently gave up my permitting business for an office job (yuck) due to financial reasons but sometimes still work weekends for people when I can. Nothing like three dogs n an old black cat to lift my spirits!!

Today I'm grateful for grapes.

Today I am grateful for quiet. And for the fact that paring knives can apparently be used to carve wood in a pinch. (Very water-damaged wood, admittedly, but still. Don't worry, I was careful.)

Water damaged wood can be very beautiful when carved. Amazing patterns can emerge.

I'm grateful for my ancestors that went before me. I'm also grateful for my family and friends who love and support me.
