On a practical note, to those who keep books, there are pencils and erasers ... just sayin ...

Myself, my "book of shadows" is a bit like Columbos pockets - a big pile of assorted scribbled ramblings - its all rattling about upstairs anyway I guess, those that I haven't obscured within poems, rhymes and stories. My aide memoire's.

I've found that focusing your intent is what's important. Eloquent or basic, being comfortable with the process is very helpful. I usually hold a couple of cantrips at the ready. Things I've found helpful before and that I'm comfortable and practiced enough to shoot off with half a thought. It also helps to just stay grounded and at peace with your self. Having a calm and ordered mind is very helpful if the spit hits the fan. Just saying.

Regarding your BOS ... Could you possibly think of cutting out the offending page with a razor edged sharp blade and burning it in a decommissioning spell?

In my own BOS, I've removed screwed up pages in this manner and it hasn't harmed the book.
