Hey Sobek,

Your idea of painting in the interest of symbolism. I like that. I was just wondering what someone might then do with a painting, drawing, etc. during the magickal process after creating it. How might you or anyone else suggest incorporating such an expression into spell work?

theres a whole many things you could do with it, you could hang it up in a relevant spot, use it as an altar piece, use it as a conduit for energies.
think of the cross, even though it's basically just a big T it is revered by many just as images and other things related to the divine are, but through personal expression i feel this can be done to a greater extent

Perhaps in a "Book of Shadows" it could be stored. The storage or destruction of the specific work could apply duration to a spell. I've seen threads where people are discussing their Books. Is this the only term for such a book? If not is it the most common?

It's generally called a Book of Shadows (BoS), though I've also seen Grimoire (sp?), Book of Mirrors or just journal. Whatever works best or is most comforable to you. Mine's a BoS.

The common thing doesn't really bother me. When I first started it I didn't know anyone on this path (or any pagan path) personally except for one person. I began calling it my Book of Shadows right from the beginning because I liked the name and that person also calls his that. I strongly respect and admire this person and, as I said, the name worked for me so I stuck with it. It's too engrained for me to consider calling it something else just because it's a common name. But if I had thought of a personal and unique name at the time that meant something to me I would have been proud to use it instead.

Ahh that makes sense to me. Why would you want to single one out when you might have several books of the different experiences and knowledge you've come across?

Old post

I have physical mobility disabilities. I’ve used see-hear-speak no evil hand gestures 🙈🙉🙊 to purify, fig ✊🏽 & horns🤘🏼to greet deity; visualized a spiraling 🌀 circle & set intent on the spiral itself with a think it, feel it, let it go 👊🏼 spell sent 🎯 ... it works.
