As everyone said, they choose you, not the other way around. If I'd have known that Odin was such a pain in the ass (you heard me old man!), I wouldn't have "chose" him. But, here I am, an odinist.
Though really, I'm kinda ...I dunno the right word...worried?... about how many people take the norse god/dess's so lightly. They are not ones to just invoke/evoke whenever you need something and then ignore them. They are a fierce lot, and should be treated as such. For any type of norse-pagan and those that call on the old gods of the north , they are your fathers and mothers, brother and sisters. They should be treated with respect. Once they set their eyes on you, rarely do they ever look away again.
How did you choose?

I think that this can be said for any gods. (Not so much the fathers/mothers/brothers/sisters part, in my experience, this is somewhat unique to the Norse) But any god is not just one to call on out of convenience and otherwise ignore. Gods are not to be taken lightly. They're gods.
I just had a thought...
When you love someone, or care about their wellbeing in some way you're willing to do things to help them. If they ask for your help you give it. And you'll give it again. And again. But if they keep on asking, and the only time they ever call you is to get something then you start to wonder why you care? Or you start to feel angry, or used. Your relationship with that person becomes tainted and if it isn't fixed quickly you're likely to either severe it completely or treat the friend as a foe. Suddenly the person who kept asking for help no longer has his lifeline and finds himself in dire straits.
This is the exact same thing that happens when you keep asking your God/ess for help but offer nothing in return. It's like the golden rule: Do unto others. If you thought the above situation would piss you off, what do you imagine it would do to a God?
Anyway... I've been in an analytical mood today.

I don't think it's a matter of choosing. They choose/he/it/she chooses you.
I've always been into both Egyptology, Ancient Rome, and Middle Eastern culture, and I took a class on ancient religion years back, so learning about Isis was inevitable. Furthermore, I think being drawn to all of the aformentioned was Isis's way of providing a catalyst to find her.
And when I did, I knew it was something, because I had discovered the difference between interest - something I felt towards virtually all pantheons and religions - and heartfelt beliefs. I not only likes Isis - I felt her.
Of course, things had to be difficult - I felt nothing towards Osiris, Horus, Serapis, or any other Egyptian, Roman, or Hellinistic deity. I get a lot of strange looks for being what has turned out to be a monotheistic Pagan, but I get a lot of slack too, from Pagans who really relish the diversity among us.
That said, when you do find who you "feel" it may not reach two, nor might it even stop at two. Your heart knows what it wants.
Good luck, hun.

My goddess chose me.
I was looking at information about the gods and goddesses on line, and I thought I was most drawn to Artemis, but I couldn't stop thinking about Hecate, so I lit a candle and asked my goddess to come to me in my dream, that night I dreamt I was in some sort of underworld but it was quite nice and Hecate was there, So when I woke I just figured that Hecate was my goddess.
I also like Morrigan, but that's because I always felt drawn to Ravens/Crows.

I'm fond of Hekate as well. Have you read my story about her?
The problem is I've been approached by a number of Deities and I'm still not sure which one is truly mine. I don't even have a pantheon to choose from... they are from all over. So I wonder if I'm just a clearing house for communication, and I'm not supposed to have a patron.
