I agree with what Sobek is saying, and understand where he is coming from even though his words may seem harsh to some of you.

If you don't want to have the beejeebies scared out of you, or be paranoid for weeks after, DON'T WATCH.

Now, if your freight is due to a shade, or a wraith following you, or residing near you, yeah, then I think a spell could help you overcome the fear. For as we know, fear is what these spirits thrive on, and without the fear they will leave you alone. Or at least not continue to attack you.

*RESSURECTS!* Oh yeah....

LilMizPiper wouldn't be the only one who avoids movies. I had nightmares for years after watching Jurassic Park... And most people get a giggle out of that because it's not "horror". I ended up looking up a family friend who was a gestalt therapist, and we spent a few sessions working through it. When something like that frightens me, now, I usually sit down and dissect it until it stops being scary.

I still don't watch horror flicks; I made a huge mistake in attempting to watch the new "Dawn of the Dead." But at least I -can- finish The Shining.

What we all have to keep in mind is that Sobek will always say what he feels. And that's a VERY good quality. Normally, Sobek gives wonderful advice and makes very good points even if it is a bit rude!! :p

LizMizPiper also speaks her mind and doesn't mind kicking butt every now and again when she has to. If she wants to make a point, she does *cough* *cough* - I think most of us know what we're talking about here - a certain debate with a certain member.

I do agree with Sobek that this is quite pointless....however, I am in exactly the same predicament as you lol!! I watch Most Haunted and even though its fake I get soooo scared. I also look over my shoulder and practically have to run everywhere because I feel like there is someone behind me! The only real way to do it, is NOT TO WATCH THEM!!!!

But magick wise why don't you wear your talisman (if you have one) and ask for the God and Goddesses protection? It's what I would do. Unfortunately, nothing will take away fear, you can only fight it. (So many Charmed episodes flooding my head atm!) lol!

Stop watching them!! Take care sweetie!! x x

just remember that the best thing to fear is fear itself.

horror movie's are like comedie's, even if the acting is good and all that. i love how people get killed and when they doo stupid things to get themselve's killed.

i really like horror movie's, since they can make me laugh (well they can pull a snigger out of me)

if any1 ever watched the final destination trilogy, they gto the best darwin worthy awards death in them :)

If I may ask a question of the people who've posted professing to being frightened easily: Do you think you have an anxiety disorder?

Now, you don't have to tell *me*. I'm just saying because handling an anxiety disorder (meaning, that your brain fires off panic well below standard tolerances) is very different than handling a standard tendency to be a little upity about scary movies. How can you tell? Creeping anxiety patterns are the easiest. Basically, if you have an anxiety disorder, you will find that if you avoid the triggers to your fears that your fears will get *worse* until you are avoiding leaving your house thanks to your fear.
Now, you don't want to go overboard and watch a Saw and The Cell as a double feature. (These two movies encompas two very different kinds of scary) Now, just to demonstrante how odd anxiety disorders are...
For me, it's different. Movies don't really bother me. I can watch any given horror movie and I can easily get bored if the director is too formulaic. I don't care about most gore. Admittedly, I flinched when I was watching OZ, but I always went back. Besides there were *other* reasons that OZ could give one nightmares for life. Just saying.

However, you want to watch some... mildly scary movies.
Paper House comes to mind... it's more of a suspense story, with some nifty metaphysics thrown in.

Anxiety disorder? Quite possibly. For the most part, during daylight hours, I have a pretty good grip on myself; At night is usually another matter. The nice thing about the gestalt sessions that I went to is that I learned how to deal with my dreams when I have a nightmare. I could make up a talisman for it, but I've found that I find out more about what's going on below my own conscious radar if I let myself have the nasty dreams and deal with them when I'm awake. My biggest problem was not the movies, but how my own mind was manifesting what I saw during sleep time... I needed to pay attention to what I was trying to tell myself, not block it out or siphon it away.

Learning to deal with my bad dreams on that level has let me deal with, and moderate, parts of myself that I would not have been able to accept before. I would say that on the whole, I'm a better person for it.

Other people mostly seem to think I got louder.

But it doesn't mean I'm going to go out an watch Saw any time soon. :P
